I just bought the philips ipronto (universal remote control). For those that do not know this item, it is best described as a 8-10 inch tablet PC with built-in Wifi that connects through your wireless network onto the internet (full internet capabilities). It is also the most sophisticated universal control that allows you to literally put aside all other remotes. It comes with a PC editing software so you can design the look and functionality of the buttons. It sits like a photo frame on the coffee table and when I pick it up, the tilt/motion sensor triggers it to "wake up"
although the operation of it is complex, time consuming, and has a steep learning curve, I think it is well worth it.
Philips has done a nice job with this one. I had heard the earlier versions were full of bugs and problems. I have owned mine for one week and have not seen any problems whatsoever
