Check my link above. I found it on MSNBC.com and it talked about the new IPod. It should cost about $100 and hold 400-800 songs. I will probably look at buying that when it comes out. Right now I can't afford the $400 Ipod nor do I have the use for it. I only have about 100 or so songs & no cds (computer crashed and I lost 800+ songs).

Thank you for all your replies.

Re: Apple IPod and other MP3 players

I've been thinking about getting one of these to hook up to the AUX input of my '03. Can anybody comment on what the level of integration would be though the on-board controls? Can you do stuff like play, ff, skip, etc. through the car, or do have to actuate directly on the IPod? The former would be very cool.

Looks like you may have to wait - Yahoo indicated the rumors of the lower priced Ipod are unfounded...we'll wait and see I guess..

Re: Apple IPod and other MP3 players

If I have to choose between the iPod and iPodMini, I would spend extra $50 and go for 15GB iPod. It seems to me, that the iPodMini is a very nice but a bit overpriced gadget compared to original iPod ($249 vs $299).

I noticed the same thing. At first, I read on MSNBC.com that it would be around $100 which is extremely low priced. Even at $150 its still low priced but would be reasonable. But why spend $249 for 4GBs when you can spend $299 for 15gb?

Pretty colors. Small size. And many people don't need room for 15GB of music.
