        2000-2003 M Brochure

        Afternoon Chaps

So I need u to verify something

I have managed to keep all the M Brochures since the introduction of the M5 - well, that is, apart from 1.

        I was missing the 2001.

So - I jump on EBay and find one - it arrived today and low and behold the 2001 and 2002 brochures are practically identical in appearance (even the cover) the pages art, the overall information and are only slightly different when looking at the M Specs and page numbers.

WHAT GIVES HERE? - Did I get an early 2002 or something - has anyone else noticed that the 2001 and 2002 brochures are 95% same

I was going to frame them but since I have what appear to be two of the same book - why bother

        Thanks chaps

        Yours, confused

        M5 Mark

Mark, I concur with you I think they are both the same. I have the '01 one, and when I was visiting my dealer sometime last year, I didn't pick up the '02 brochure because it looked identical.

Do you have the '02 M brochure (thicker)? That's a nice one. I still pick it up to peruse from time to time. Even though I drooled over it for many instances it still looks to be in a decent shape

        BMW M5 2003 Brochure

        Hi Mark,

I ordered the 2003 M3/M5 brochure last week that I saw on EBay. It is supposed to be 80+ pages. Is this the same product that you have received in the past? Thought it might be nice to have a copy just to make my 2003 Imola Red a little more complete. That is just about all of the extras I can afford for the moment!

        Regards,
        Bob Poole

Well here are scans of the brochures - What was BMW thinking - oh wait - how many times have we heard that one

        2000

        2001 Exibit A

        2002 Exibit B

        2003

Well now that I know that I am not ( that) crazy - I will frame them, along with my M5DE certificates.. I already have a nice collection of M5 Framed stuff - One of these days I will actually take some pics of them.

Karman - I know what u mean about looking at the brochure every now and then - I cherish the 2000 brochure - I dont think there are many left.

Bob - I was confused about the differences between teh 2001 and 2002 - I am still confused - why didnt they do something different - like I said - expect the unexpected (and stupid)when it comes to BMW

        thanks for the help

        See u out there

The stupidity wasn't limited to just the US and it wasn't just the M Brochure. The handouts here didn't change much either other than a page or two and the MY number on the front. Same for the 5 series Brochure with all of the house shots from Europe in it.
Probably a way of saving money especially when so much is going to R&D for new series cars. Or should I sat to fix things that didn't go right the first time around?

        Howdy, Jimbo!

I have different versions of the 2000 and 2001 brochure. They are M5-only brochures excluding the rest of the M product line.

        Peter,

I was about to point that out...Good idea though, framing the brochures.

What I got was that 2002 and 2003 were basically just the same... A large "book" on the whole M lineup..

I have the '03.. and turfed to 02 since it was the same
