        Advice on garage floors

I'm starting to build a new house & would like some options on garage floors. I did a search, but what came up was expired etc... Pictures? Tiles vs Paint? $ is always a factor
        Any input is appreciated

Send a PM to Bart Carter. If I recall, he built a garage recently. I do not remember what kind of floor he did install.

Griot's Garage has lots of items especially made for garages. http://www.griotsgarage.com/index.jsp

Mine is just ultra-smooth concrete, but that works well.

        RDH,
I am currently in the process of designing a 3 car garage (26' X 46'). I hope to be looking into flooring options soon. I have considered tile, but I'm concerned about keeping them clean from tire rub and cost, etc. I have considered some of the grease resistant rubber tile products, but they seem to get dirty quickly. As this will be a working garage for me (my own work, I'm not working on cars/boats professionally), I think I'll end up with smooth concrete (strong mix to support a two-post lift) with an Epoxy paint over the top. If the floor starts to wear with the epoxy, you can simply recoat it...

Let me know if you find anything else out there.

        Good Luck.

I saw a program on TV where they were installing an epoxy coating on a garage floor. The end product was pretty cool - here is a link to the product that they used.

I'd really like to do this to my garage

        Thanks guys-
I have been researching more on this and have discovered that the tiles that have the holes in them are a nightmare to keep clean. They tend to fill up with "what ever" almost within hours after install or cleaning them (everything gets trapped )
The solid tiles look great but I'm guessing around $5 to $10sq ft

Found these for instance by Kiwi Tiles
        http://www.kiwitile.com/images/splash/show6.gif

        And this from Race Deck
        http://www.racedeck.com/images/garage/garviper.jpg
I've also seen some pretty impressive painted floors that are easier to clean and $$ cheaper
