Okay well check out this link > http://www.musicalfidelity.com/news.html
Then click on "20 years of excellence"then click "New Tri Vista Series" and check the specs out on that!! I thought Krell was the loudest and craziest but that!

your 1200 is big..
I don't (always) subscribe to the thesis that bigger is better. I also have a krell power amp.. and one needs power in any music / theatre system for the gutt slamming pieces to sound good..
But unless MF have really changed a lot, there are few amplifier manufacturers that can build a power amp the way the yanks can... which I admit is not always subtle but totally powerful..
Krell have always ben known for their amps.. Jeff Rowland has few peers.. Mark Levinson even Theta now ... so - not to knock MF cos they're British... I will stick with the American amps for now..
Wonder what they cost ??

Agreed, M Power. And you live in the right place -- I know Krell is manufactured in CT, and I seem to recall that Mark Levinson is as well.
Triflow -- What 1200 watt amp do you have? That is powerful.

Mea culpa -- I guess I don't inderstand the icons. I saw an envelope with what looked like a seal (round black circle) over the back, and thought that meant the topic was closed. Sorry....

ken,
the topic is not closed...
actually i use a fairly off the shelf system
Infinity IL 50 tower speakers, IL10 bookshelf speakers (as my rears), IL 30 center channel and a velodyne CHT Series 12" sub although each of the IL 50's have a 10" powered sub in the bottom.
I use a Onkyo M282 amp and a Onkyo 676 receiver..
When i said 1200w...im actually adding all the power required together or what i remember the power they need. It a very good system although i still would like to upgrade later on

Isn't the Krell Master Reference Amp about a kilowatt as well?

uhhhhh,
using a standard 15 amp line, you cant get much more than 1300 watts sustained. using a 20 amp line you wont get much more than 1800 watts sustained. youll need some serious home upgrading for this! definately its bonkers.
if you want to see something really cool, check out what meridian is doing with room correction:

IMHO they are the top dog- but there are others that are very good too.
