Daytona 500 - Anyone going or ever been to it?

I'm thinking of going to the Daytona 500 this February. Although not a big Nascar fan, I've been to the Indy years ago and now think I should see Daytona too. Gives a person a well balanced outlook on the sport of racing and I am in Florida anyways...

I'm having trouble figuring out the seating situation. You pick a section around the track but then have a choice of "chair, box, or tower". Unlike a football game, tower seats appear to cost more than the box or chair. I suppose the tower seats can see the whole track??? Whats the view from a box seat? Anybody have expierience with the Daytona Speedway layout and how far up you need to go for a good track view? Are the corner areas better than getting seats with pit row views?

While were at it, anybody know a contact for tickets? I was just going to bend over and buy from the typical Ebay scalper.

Thanks for any tips you can lend, I know someone here will fess up and have info from previous years - Rick

I'm gonna try to make it to the 24 Hours, not the 500...

        went to the 500

I went in 1998 when #3 won. Wow, what a crazy get up...specially when we flew ourselves into Daytona International airport. It was nuts.

I really want to go to the 24 hours. Im not a nascar fan at all but it was a good time and I can say that i went.

Never been to the 500 (not a NASCAR fan at all) - but I'd highly suggest the 24hr - just plain awesome to watch (especially at night).
