Why i am obsessed with TT porsches. A nice little story.

First off i am lucky to be alive now.

This summer in Greece, i met my friends cousin who has a 2001 911 turbo. He had some modifications on it because he claimed it was too slow, but I forget what he put in it. I think it was a new exhaust and a chip, or some sort of engine mod.

If any of you know how drivers drive in Greece, then you know what I am in for at this point.

So my friend tells his cousin to take me for a ride in it.

Before getting in the car i slide my foot on the street, and it glides like ICe. The roads are made with marble there, so at this point I figured I’m already dead. So he pulls out of his parking area nice and slow at a bar we were all at. I figure, “whew this is not so bad" Then we get on the main road and BAMMMMMM. HOLY ****!!. Felt like that first drop on a roller coaster. THIS WAS NOT A HIGHWAY ROAD. The engine sound was amazing, the thing just opened up music to my ears! This was a 3 lane ROAD in Athens. If you are in Boston think of a bit wider sturrow drive that’s a bit flatter. It was NOT a highway.

So I’m here shitting myself and this guy is shifting like crazy all relaxed. THERE WAS TRAFFIC ON THIS ROAD and it was not a straight road either. It had large turns. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS THING WAS GRIPPING ON A MARBLE ROAD. The grip on the TT Porsche is AMAZING. I converted the kilometers and we were going 160-165 mph. We were taking wide turns at 155-160 with no problem. It seemed every single car was standing still as we passed them. He goes into the far left lane where there was a curb/island thing with trees/bushes on it. I just look at how fast that stuff was going by and figured if we just knick the curb we are dead. He even had the god **** sunroof open, and the music on. Talk about messing with aerodynamics with the roof open at 160mph. So my chances of getting out of this alive are now about 2/1. And that whole feeling of the first drop of a roller coaster? That’s what the whole ride felt like.

So now I see this red dot getting bigger and bigger. It was a red light. He hits the breaks. No skidding, he braked in 5 sequences. From light to hard. I just **** myself at how good this thing was breaking. I mean I can’t even explain the feeling of the breaking. The felling is as good as the acceleration.

Now we are on a smaller road with a lot more traffic and lights. He is gunning it in traffic passing cars. He cut off a bus going through a space that did not look big enough at all for us to fit. He must have missed him by 5 inches. So all this goes on till we go back to the bar we were at. Once I got out of the car, my legs were shaking. I just thought to myself and realized that was the best experience I have ever had in my life so far.

        God Bless the TT porsche

Hmm... seems to me a lot of people get the same reaction from the TT.. Had a similar experience in the TT this weekend, although I was behind the wheel.

Maybe they should issue daipers for every 1st timer in the TT
