Economic section : will Greenspan lower FED's rate on Tuesday ?

On Tuesday 13th, Alan Greenspan (FED's governor) is due to announce if he keeps US rates unchanged or not. I'm sure you guys have an opinion on this !!
Remember, should he lower rates by 50bp (as some brokers anticipate), it could be a bad news for the stock exchange...

Lets hope he doesn't, as our markets fall when the markets across the pond do

I think there's no reason to lower it this time around, but possibly it will lower before Christmas season rolls around to boost consumer confidence.

I agree with KRM5. I do not think we will see any rates changed in the upcoming week. No huge sell off to end the week, could we have hit bottom (outside knocking on the largest tree I can find)?

I disagree- he didnt lower when Bush Sr. was in office, arguably contributing to a climate of economic sluggishness that cost #41 the vote. He doesnt want to make the same "mistake" twice. IMHO, rates are coming down.

I don't think he will change the rates - however, can someone PLEASE give this man a heart attack? He's done NOTHING but cause trouble, and then somehow tried to implement changes to prove that he was right all along.

It's time for a change. Volker, Greenspan, who's next?
