How do you prevent your significant other from SLAMMING the door?

I ask this partially joking, as it doesnt really make me mad, but I figured I would present the question to see if there are any tips from others out there.

For years, my girlfriend has almost always slammed the passenger door upon exiting the vehicle. I realize the M5 doors are much heavier than the typical sedan, but still. I mention it every time the door slams, and she always apologizes but it still happens.

My Sig Other does NOT slam the door for two reasons:

One, she is also an auto/motorcycle enthusiast

Two, she has respect for mine (and other's) Property

The man who expects nothing is never disappointed. However, the man who expects what he wants and gets it generally isn't disappointed either.

Run over her shoes? Slam the closet door?

Like desmotesta, my girlfriend respects my beast, and slowly she is learning to appreciate cars.

You do have to close the doors a bit hard to get them to close right

The ONE feature the E39 does not have is... soft close doors.

THE TRUNK HOWEVER, wow, people really slam that thing.

Drives me nuts when people do that. You have to open and close the door for her, it's the only way and she IS your girl after all.............

This. Frankly, it annoys me x1,000 when it takes the gf/mum/nan etc 12 attempts to close the door.

Z3. I always meant to look at the door adjustment DIYs but all 4 are like it and back of the car is like new so I don't think there's been a lot of traffic through there. Once you get the hang of exactly how much tug is needed they close beautifully.

The doors on the old dears Volvo C70 though, they each weigh about the same as a ferry and only require a little encouragement past the stop, at which point there really is no exit procedure.
