OT: I know but I thought you might like a very quick Star Wars 2 review!
I wont waste any time in sharing this with you
THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE!!!
More later (don’t worry, I wont give away the plot) when I get my thoughts together- but basically its more in line with the first 3 movies in terms of action, pacing and character development. My first reaction is: this is the most remarkable star wars film ever (key word is remarkable). Right now Id say it like this in terms of where it falls in to place
star wars (original)
empire
attack of the clones
jedi
phantom menace

no young Padawon learner, not yet- it will be released this Thursday. However, I like to do charitable things and this time around I was given the additional reward of getting a sneak peak along with ~1000 other lucky souls.
Dan,
as soon as I can collect my thoughts I will post more. Lets just say that when I first saw Phantom Menace, during nearly the whole movie I was critically evaluating the movie. With this one, that lasted about 5 minutes. All of a sudden I was a kid again with my jaw on the floor and I picked it up 2 hours and 20 minutes later. The graphics are stunning and the soundtrack is fantastic. If you are a fan of Star Wars, it is my strong opinion that you will be very happy with this movie. More later- probably tomorrow. There was so much to digest it will take time. Btw- I get to go tuesday night for another viewing!! I am a very lucky Padawon myself!

ME, where'd ya go to see it, I realize that the quality of the theatre has a lot do with ones experience Was the theatre THX certified? I would assume yes since you saw a sneek peak
-Chris
P.S. How is the 7 doing? Any software updates yet??

Chris,
It was at the Tribeca Film Festival and I actually dont think it was THX certified! The movie was not presented digitally- a little bummer- but the transfer was clean and the movie looked very vibrant and very film like (for being shot in hdtv 1080p 24fps.)
I am also thinking up a review of the 7er- suffice it to say the gripes with the car are less and less about the appearance and more and more on some of the workings of idrive. the first gen software is slightly buggy and is most often cured by turning the car off and on again. no very important systems have ever been affected.....

i was supposed to see that today too!
you probably saw it at my school.. Stuyvesant High School. people from my school got tickets to go see it today, and i was supposed to go see it, but i missed my teacher who was going to give me the tickets by about 5 minutes!
oh well, i have a copy of it on my computer now.. but my question is, should i watch it now on my computer (in worse quality) or should i wait until i watch it on thursday morning (12:01am)?
im very anxious..

Dank,
wait- trust me, wait!! There are plot twists and turns and its really made to be seen on the big screen. there were 2 showings, one at the HS and one at the actual film festival across the street. I was at the latter one. Got to see Natalie Portman. She is very kind.

ME,
I thought you'd have another test - "Who did I get to see at Star Wars premier...?" I was all ready to win again!
Glad you liked it.

lol.
I can tell you who I saw today:
James Earl Jones
Natalie Portman
Michael J Fox
Frank Oz (Yoda)
Mcalkey Culkin (sp? sorry if I have it incorrect)
Dennis Leary
Dan Ackroid
What I observed is that all the celebs had a nice time and all were gracious.

I read that Lucas made the film with only THX/Digital whichamacallit in mind. He didnt want the viewer to get a "second-rate" experience with a lesser theatre.
Its not like his pocket book is going to take a beating even though that cuts down on the number of theatres that it is going to be shown at.
