You're very lucky to be where you are at such a young age! Are you in college? When I was only 18, I had no idea what I wanted to do back then. I worked for about 1 1/2 years at Microsoft before deciding that the corporate environment wasn't for me. I quit and went into business for myself. I do some graphics work here and there. Mostly I travel...I spent about a year doing this and now I'm focusing on building my new home. I've also got a job interview lined up at a children's hospital. I'm exploring the possibility of taking a completely different career direction. College for grad school is another possibility for me also.

It mostly just takes a lot of hard work which will eventually pay off! Look at me and a lot of the others here. We've all went on to acquire a M5 among other things.

Jason,

I wish I knew where I wanted to go haha. I am in university now and am taking computer science. I do some web stuff on the side to pay for my tuition. However, I think I will switch and go into business. I am gonan try something next year and just take the courses that i like and see where that leads me.

But I do know that I want to be a cop. (strange, huh? No one ever understands it) I would like some time working in the K9 unit, and then maybe working in the Major Crime Unit.

I spent some time hanging around with a police officer who was investigating somone who had a warrent out for her arrest. I was very lucky because we actually ran into the woman and he arrested her. It was so exciting! I didnt do anything, but I still felt so good to get this person off the street (for now..). I think I would be very happy to be doign that. So that is my profession.

I want to run a company on the side though. I'm not sure I want to completely depend on a police officer's income alone. So hopefully that is where my business (or computer) degree will come in.

All through high school I would measure sucess on how much money a person makes. But then for some reason it hit me that money realy has nothign to do with it. In my eyes, I think now I see sucess as being happy with what you are doing, and who you are. As long as I have that going for me, I don't think I will even care what kind of car I have.

At the moment I kind of see making money as a game. Its fun to work for it and get it... but I could do without it

Comments? Suggestions? I really value your oppinions.

This board is perhaps a bigger influence on me than I would like to admit

Duncan: I know what you mean.
But for me, happiness is measured in how many M-cars I'll be able to own at the same time (I'd like a 996tt & 360 also). Honestly, I'm living in the hope of someday having such a car as the E39 M5. I don't care about money at all. Like I said in another thread about a Z8, I'd trade my wife and kids (not that I have any wife or kids) with a Z8(M5/M3)... I'd even concider to trade my mom!

I don't think it's a good idea to duct tape jason up.. 'coz if we do that, when he finally gets himself out, he's going to be so deprived of posting to this messageboard, he'll just go crazy and take up all the bandwidth posting new messages day and nite..

I have a better idea. Why don't we go duct tape Bart Carter up? He's certainly posting more often than me and Eric both.

I'm sure he'll like that. Probably should do it right before his garage is completed too so he could spend his time just admiring his huge new 3200 sq ft garage!!!

No, you didn't but you brought up the idea and I just re-interpreted it for our own benefit.
