? about the Blinder laser jammer

I was checking out the Blinder laser jammer, since a few folks here report that it is one of the best laser jammers out there, and have a question -

While it appears that the blinder can effectively jam any laser gun, first it must DETECT the laser gun - I have no front license plate, so the natural target for a laser gun would be one of the headlights (the most reflective targets on the front of the car). If I have the blinder sensors mounted inboard of the headlights, and a few inches below them, what are the chances that they would detect a laser fired at the car (which would presumably be fired at one of the headlights)? I think the odds aren't too good.

Here's a link to a pic of the car - note the 3 openings on each side of the "grill" - the blinder sensors would be mounted in the uppermost grill opening on the right and left sides. http://people.smu.edu/jgreco/mycar3.jpg

What do y'all think? I don't think it would be an effective enough mounting location to do much good.

i dont think

I don't think they work at all, nor have I seen any independent advice to the contrary. But I have seen tests (C&D recently I believe) that show they are 100% useless.

Save your money.

I don't recall C&D testing any laser jammers lately - they did a test of them a few (3 to 4) years ago, but I haven't seen anything in the past year. What issue are you referring to? I can check my library, I have just about every C&D back to 1989

don't think these things work at all.. If they really did, I would imagine all radar detector manufacturers would have had them built in already!

Re: ? about the Blinder laser jammer

Speaking for the Blinder and Lidatek, these jammers definitely work. I haven't run into much laser, but when I have the Blinder has worked perfectly, with 100% jamming. JohnG, i doubt the officer who is targeting you with laser will check to see whether you have a front plate and adjust to aim at a headlight, which is a low-margin target. I suspect they'll pick a center-area target anyway and assume there'll be suffiicient reflection, plate or no plate.

Re: ? about the Blinder laser jammer

I dont think it actually needs to detect it in the first place to work. Im not quite sure of the technology, but I think the Lidatek uses an LED that emits wavelengths similar to that of the laser. Once it electonically detects laser, then it emits a noise so you can slow down or speed up, whichever is your preference.
