Hey, Clarkson released another DVD, called "Duel", which I believe you can download...oh, buy...anywhere. They have a Top Gear vs Fifth Gear part (Vicky & Noodles vs Stiggy & Power). And to spoil it...Fifth Gear won (some say the Stig never likes 5th gear, as he never uses it).
Last I heard VBH was doing the traffic news on a London radio station

I watched that and it was pretty good! Not the best of Clarkson's stuff, but it had some good moments.
It's sad to see that fifth gear is canceled. I think clarkson from top gear can be funny, but he's usually just obnoxious. Fifth gear's reviews, especially those by tiff and vicki, are much more informative, even though they aren't as entertaining. It would be cool to see tiff and vicki join top gear. They seem to be better drivers than the top gear trio.

There just isnt much of a market for car shows like 5th gear aimed at the masses. Even top gear in the early 2000s had more car stuff like 5th gear. Remember the guy before James? He'd always give advice about buying used cars. Sure, top gear is about cars, but people who don't care about cars can watch it and have a good time. The low-budget challenges make it a lot of fun.
Most of the car shows that I see here in the US are about classic cars, too. That's a very focused demographic. And it's always on cable, too.

I totally agree with you. Yeah from the article it sounded like top gear had a tough time when it started up again in the early 2000s. That must have been when they evolved to become more oriented towards general entertainment. Tell me if I'm wrong, though, I just started watching clips a couple of years ago. I never caught the earlier episodes. I'm just so amazed by some of the roads that they find when they're testing and doing the long distance comparisons.
I wish they had a show similar to Top Gear here in the US. I hate the BBC america channel that we get on cable they never play up to date episodes, and there has been nothing from the most recent seasons.
