Sorry to see that. I heard that American Express is the card to use if paying via paypal and having it funded by a credit card. Amex will fight hard for you to retrieve your money, whereas Visa and MasterCard aren't as good in that regard. I hope you get your money back asap

I hope his actions don't ruin the trust of other members on the board. MOST of us are very honest and truthful. I hope things work out......

I learned the hard way also. A seller on this board sold me a set of what I thought were '01 headlights which he assured me could be opened to replace adjusters and re-sealed. I got them and they were sealed with that glue that's impossible to melt and he wouldn't refund my money. I contacted PayPal and they basically said they couldn't do much because it wasn't an Ebay transaction. I guess the best way to avoid this would be to send money using PayPal, but use a credit card or ATM card, that way your bank or credit union can reimburse you and proceed with pressing charges. Sorry to hear about this going on

+1. Paypal is not very good especially when dealing with ebay (can you say conflict of interest??). But Amex is the best, speaking from experiemce on 2 transactions with paypal and Amex.
Regards,
Jerry

Unfortunately, PayPal is limited in what they can or will (be bothered) to do. Having a credit card in addition to PP is wise advice.

A friend of mine bought some parts from an eBay thief, paid via PayPal, and when protested that all he received was (literally) a box of rocks, PP said "too bad, seller has proof that he shipped something". Fortunately, you do have a certified address with PP, so it may be worth a call to the local law enforcement agency to see if they'd like to stop by there and say hello.

Best of luck to you,
Michael
