Off Topic ForumThis is the place for mature discussions not necessarily related to cars. This is however also moderated and only registred members are allowed to post. No religion and no vicious attacks.
Ah, I didn't realize that some posts were removed giving quotes of members. I'm just trying to defend the E39 guys... I read that senior members were and are trash talking on the E60 and I haven't really read that so I did want to see where Jay was coming from. Personally I don't care, obviously the E60 is superior technologically but I can't believe anyone could argue otherwise. When it comes to preference, I prefer the E39 for looks and because it's the car I dreamt about when it first came out and I was in seventh grade. So long as people are civil and are not attacking any I'm happy with whatever they are saying so long as no one is being downright attacked or bashed. I think it's ridiculous for anyone to get made at another person for disliking something they own or drive, but if Jay is calling out specific posts that do bash or attack the E60 or it's owners then good for him. As fine of a line it may be between preference and superiority, there is a much broader line between civility and hostility, and the latter has no place on the board.

Jerry (gsfent) Thank you, you 'get' it! and well writen to, wish I had used some of your sentiments.
Thank you Charlie (Nabio).
I know its easy to get defensive when someone appears against you, I know I do it!Sorry!! We are not all perfect. I will appologies for any negative tones and overly aggressive comments, also to Gustav for posting comment with out removing the posters name. I 'just' want a positive forum, guess that can sometimes be like wishing for peace on earth.
Bullying was mentioned as a 'life' comment and not as a reflection of any actions on here. I'm sure everyone would stamp on this. Being the 'type' of bloke I am, my teaching back ground and my physical size and build I always come out against this strongly.
I did'nt start this thread but I do agree with M5 Bliss which is plainly obvious lol!
Anyway glowrider hit the nail on the head with his last post...lol!
Handled like a dream and the buttometer registered power, followed by power and more power. I think I will get one.
RS6 is a terrific car. It always has been. The problem has always been, however, that Audi is a half-cycle or so behind BMW and MB in that department when it comes to media and advertising their new products. Only serious car enthusiasts, and really, just Audi fans, even know wtf an RS version of the car is. There's the A, the S, and the RS version of the same body? And when the big HP jumps are made, people get ///M's and ///AMG cars. So, when Audi comes out, people already have their car. They are always playing catchup. I won't even get into brand image stuff, but that's a big thing too.
I think they are a great company and make great vehicles. I took my family around Germany in a Q7 and it was the best SUV I've driven to date. Everything about it is better than the competitors in that class. I am excited to get one when the time comes.
(And thank you, I try to have a light touch from the bully pulpit)
