I started the thread last night because today was my quarterly cigar shopping day.

I just picked up some Oliva Serie V Figurados. $7 a piece and let me tell you...a lot of punch for a little money. If you haven't tried one of these you really have to. First inch or so you taste the burn, but it smooths out really well and it is a very nice cigar. I daresay that it is a top 10 for the money. Puff.com actually has it, overall, as its number one cigar (and the list is VERY impressive) - CA rates the Serie V at 89 - not bad at all! Also got a couple of Serie G, I found a dozen Opus X Fuente Fuente which I'm going to let settle for a couple of months, Padron 64th Anniversary Exclusivos and a few others, but those are the ones of note from this afternoon's trip to Barclay Rex. I freshened up my Cuban stash as well from a tobacconist I use over in Jersey - Cohiba Siglo VI and some Trinidad Robustos.

If you guys want, we can start a bit of a review thread like the gun thread. We're turning this board into a more masculine place, if I do say so myself Nobody was really interested in my shaving thread, but if anyone else is into straight razor shaves only, let me know. I could go on for days about that!

Post up your cutters! I have this XiKAR, but with a white Cohiba logo on the reverse.

Damn. I nominate you Board Cigar Geek. I smoke one every now & then, usually an Ashton...accompanied by a glass of Don Julio 1942 Anejo...or Paradiso or Freda Kahlo or Jose Cuervo De La Familia. Someone just sent me some "Frankie's Way"s. Have you tried them?

But wait, you just told me to put out my cigar, because you find it offensive, and now you're telling me that I'm offensive if my views don't match you personal idea of socially acceptable sexuality?

I have been in outdoor patio's of different establishments here in California and told to put out my cigar, while not even 3 tables away a group is smoking cigarette's. I asked the waiter to either have them put out theirs, or to comp my meal and I will leave. It's simple discrimination.

I don't by any means mean to come down on anyone who might be homosexual, but I was using it as a reference as to how warped our American society has come. One thing is not ok, and yet another is accepted and almost forced to be made the norm.

I get the "please put the cigar out sir" thing, but NOT if people are smoking cigarettes! No freaking way. Not sure where you are in SoCal, but I've got a Mexican restaurant near me that I go to when I want to smoke a cigar. Outdoor patio, nobody tells you to put them out, and (thanks to me) they carry some KILLER tequilas.

Yes. Even here in the NC land of tobacco fields (though not normally for cigars), the laws are getting strict....I do not smoke cigarettes, and consider myself somewhat of a health fanatic since I ride my bike ~30 miles a day and eat relatively healthy to keep up with the 20 somethings that are 1/2 my age. Training for a trek across the state of NC right now...

Who cares in this thread, one might ask? Because, I also enjoy a good cigar on occasion, just as Lance Armstrong does. And yes with either a cognac or a single malt scotch (Macallan is my choice), or a simple Lavazza or Illy espresso or machiatto. Jeez, can't imagine how fast I might be if I quit!

Thanks for the comments and recommendations. I will now have to search a few out for my humidor after the ride....

PS: Pls make sure you give the bike plenty of room when passing. Thank you!

Dang dude...you might as well be in Canada. Let me know if/when you'll ever be down this way. I was at that Mex place last night, and the owner was telling about *2* seriously ridiculous lawsuits he's been involved in. Rather than hijack this thread, I'll start another one later (go to make a Palomar Mtn run). Unbelievable stuff.

Only if you're wearing an M5 shirt. We did a ralley up in Malibu a couple years ago. Lot of bikes out on the same road, so we were REAL careful. We even had radios, and we'd warn each other whenever we saw a bicylist. Well, out of 30 M5's, i'm the one that gets pulled over of course. As I sat there waiting for Officer "Hey...love the car man!", any bikes that came by had some smartass thing to say: "good job officer!...etc."
