Kids With Nazi Names Taken From Home
HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Jan. 14) -
Three New Jersey siblings whose names
have Nazi connotations have been placed
in the custody of the state, police said.
The children, ranging in age from 3 to
under 1, were removed from their home
Friday. They drew attention last month
when a supermarket bakery refused to
put the name of the oldest — Adolf Hitler
Campbell — on a birthday cake.
State workers didn’t tell police why the
children were taken, police Sgt. John
Harris said. A family court hearing is
scheduled for Thursday.
The other two children, both girls, are
JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and
Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell.
The father, Heath Campbell, had no
comment when contacted by The
Express-Times of Easton, Pa. The
Associated Press could not locate a
working telephone number for the family
on Wednesday.
Kate Bernyk, a spokeswoman for the
state Division of Youth and Family
Services, said the agency doesn’t
comment on specific cases.

This has to be a clear violation of first amendment rights. I believe first amendment protects unpopular speech just as much as any other sort. I hope NJ has money to settle the civil rights suit that will follow.

I disagree that this is a violation of the first amendment. This is a tragic situation. These people are not fit parents. They are mentally deranged. What type of human being would name their child after Hitler? They are endangering the well being of those innocent children. This is involving innocent children...this is not about freedom of speech.

There are plenty of unfit parents out there. To take children away because of their names? For all we know these parents are solid, law abiding citizens who are just ignorant assholes.

What about the crackwhores on welfare with 9 kids? State doesn't take them away - no, they give them more money per kid...

To take children away from their parents because of their names? That's just as much a disgrace as what the parents decided to name their children.

I guess I could see either point of view. I certainly dont believe that crackheads are more fit parents. I still believe that you must have some sort of idea of how those poor children will be terrorized by other children for having such evil names. I am not sure that they should be taken away, however I must say that I believe that anyone that honors someone along the lines of Adolf Hitler has some serious mental issues.

I understand what will happen to them in the future - there's no denying it. However, we have a First Amendment, and this really does fall squarely in there.

If I were the parents, I'd take the State of NJ to court and smack the **** out of them - though, with morons like these two for parents, they probably don't know they can do that.
