It ocurrs to me that the events of 9/11/2001 helped to further our respect for our veterans (as well as anyone on active duty).
Anyone else think the same?
Also what of other countries -- how are veterans honored?

...as for other countries, I didn't attend, but nearby in the Netherlands, at a US cemetary where thousands are intered, thousands of Dutch attended an annual ceremony lasting three hours where they honored the fallen Americans.
