UK to USA shipping suggestions

Any advise would be appreciated....
Roy at CA Automotive and I have been looking for a more cost effective method to ship a towbar for my e39 M5 to me. I can not find the bar in the US and hard a very tough time finding someone willing to help me get one from the UK (where they are common) to me in Florida.

The box weighs about 45 pounds, and is large at 50"Lx16"Wx12"T

So far the quotes coming in are upwards of $350 USD! Help...ideas please.

Is anyone traveling from the UK to the US anytime soon? feel like checking this through as luggage. I would reimburse for the cost +trouble?

If you are getting quotes of $350 then doesn't it mean someone is willing to ship it for you? What is the problem then?

I Know in life sometimes you just have to pay for what you want. I'm happy just to have found someone to facilitate this. I in no way mean to kick the gift horse in the teeth. Roy at CA is the man for this.

What I am asking for here is ideas of how to ship it cheaper. The shipping cost exceeds the price of the towbar kit. Id be crazy not to at least try to find a more reasonable approach, its kind of like walking by a $100 bill on the sidewalk- you'd pick it up right?

I understand what you are saying, though I would appreciate if you didn't make assumptions about me

My bad, I dint mean it like that. No assumptions.
My $100 analogy is purely rhetorical or hypothetical...all in good fun is what I mean. I was elaborating for anyone else reading the thread asking what is this guy (me) whining about.
