Since he owns a few very expensive cars, and since my business is currently in the toilet, I'm thinking this "redistribution of wealth" is coming at exactly the right time.

Lol.. fear not Russ.. just a powerless peon here! :p But I know a stinky, discredited economic philosophy when I see/smell one. Right now, concentrating wealth in the upper few percent of society and the notion of trickle down deserves to be in the political shitter for a while, if only because the GOP has so resoundly f*cked everything up, including their brand.

As for the Gallup poll, I'm not at all surprised by the response. I'd be shocked if more than small percentage of respondants really understand that political systems always redistribute wealth. Most people probaby have not seriously thought about it, and now we see that the McCain/Palin scare tactics have given the buzz phrase a negative association (even if most Americans don't seriously believe Obama will usher in a new dark age of communism in America).

There seems to be a paranoia in the US about this. Preventing greedy buggers from taking virtually everything is in no way communism. Look at Europe. we had our scares with real communism, but we don't have any in place anywhere but we have a very sick economic system brought about by liars and chancers supported by idiots in power with no ability, dubious relationships with the greedy buggers and a total inability/unwillingness to be honest with us..

FWIW, I've mentioned my opinions elsewhere on the OT forum, but succinctly put...

When voting for Obama, you're voting for a singularly run democratic-run House, Senate, and Presidency. This from a left-wing agenda bound idiot, and it spells doom incarnate.

It's apparently not enough to appreciate(!) the associations of said nominee.

Personally, I find the igorance of the American populace abhorent. Hopefully the major television networks will soon be advising a jump from the highest cliff -- that'd help, since the majority would jump.

Has anyone considered a simpler approach, ie: turning over control of the country to umm, say, Nigeria?

Oops, Obama has raised in excess of $150 million in September alone -- doesn't that outweight the GDP of that country for it's entire history?

I for one, will NEVER overestimate the intelligence or wherewithall of the populace of this country ever again.

In closing, I'd like to offer this: For those who'd like to pay more taxes (be it on their businesses, their personal incomes, etc), I'd like to allow them to do so, and for those who don't, likewise. So, for Obama voters, you can allow them to tax the living crap out of you, and you can watch them spend it (er, redistribute it) as they see fit, and you'll LOVE it. For the sane among us, we'll sit back and watch, popcorn in hand. Simply an elegant solution.

100% agree with you. Re-electing George Bush despite all evidence pointing to his disasterous presidency to the contrary, I will never ever ever again overestimate the intelligence or wherewithall of the populace of this country, ever again...

People of New York were forced to choose between her and Rick Lazio. they might have even went with him, if it weren't for his completely negative campaigning. This man just went nuts with a video of Hilary Clinton shking hands with wife of what's his face, arafat.

Great stuff Russ. Pending social engineering from the White House -- unfrickingbelievable. This was all over the news today, btw.

Also, how does one "thank" a user for a given post? Struggling to figure this out.
