Perhaps, but they will probably tell you straight out that they will not vote or Obama just becasue he is black.
Aha! But now we're going into a gray area. How many people would vote for Obama because of how he presents himself and for other reasons other than his race? For many, even if a guy has good ideas but is a republican, they will not vote for him (this is why I think Ron Paul was in the wrong party). The same falls for Palin, too. Many people were wooed by her speeches and like her because of that. But when you listen to what she's actually saying....
By the same token, how many people will vote for McCain because they simply don't like democrats or the crowd that usually follows them?
Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for, uh, evil. You are not compelled - morally, legally or practically - to vote for either one. You may vote for one of the other candidates on the ballot, or be a conscientious objector and simply note vote (at least for that office).
The perpetuation of the system rests on people's misguided notion that they must vote for one of the establishment candidates and thus give it legitimacy.
If enough people voted third-party or just stayed home (but still actively let their voice be heard), things might change. They will never change when you hold your nose and vote for either McCain or Obama. Talk about a wasted vote!
I said "Ron Paul was the only person I would have voted for...". Which means I am not voting. Either candidate doesnt get me excited about anything. I still prefer McCain to win...doesn't mean I am voting. Also the lesser of two evils is still better than the greater of two evils is it not?

I'm voting for the black guy. Seriously. Alan Keyes. (But, since I'm in CA, my vote doesn't count anyway)

That is my point. A racist is a racist, but some are more in touch with their a-hole side -- and so out of touch with today's world that they have no shame in displaying it.
Democrats will take NJ and the reason they do is because they go down to the projects in Newark/ Paterson and other low income areas and wake everyone up to go vote. Pretty nice yuh, and the "voters" get their hand stamped after voting. That way when they return to their homes, there are a couple of trucks in the courtyard. They show there stamped hand and get free hotdogs and beer. By ten o'clock they have a pretty good party going on. Now this happens every year. The really great thing about the projects is it is low income subsidized housing. So it is my taxes dollars that are paying for them to vote in the people that raise my taxes to support them.
