New ECU/TCU tuning for the M6

As posted in a thread a couple of days ago, my mechanic in Famringdale Long Island Bruce from Tuning Technology Motorsports told me about how MHP needed an M6 ecu to work on. Even though id be the first to recieve this tune I was skeptical because I saw how MHP can make unbeleiveable power out of all the AMG's ECU and TCU. Update: MHP ECU/TCU Tuning (Throttle Blipping, etc, DONE!) - MBWorld.org Forums. So right away I parked my M6 in the garage and attempted to pull out the ECU.. Somehow I managed to get the TCU out and shipped it out to MHP.. Bruce right away recieved a phone from MHP telling him that the TCU was done on the M6 and the ECU was still not recieved. I rushed home and pulled the ECU out and sent it out today so I can get it back saturday. I was told MHP found 20+ rwhp out of my TCU alone, and is working on the ECU soon as it gets there. Cant wait to get this ECU back Saturday and drive it especialy since no tuning company ever did a TCU tune for an m6 yet, let alone a excelent tuner like MHP tuned my ECU... I was told the gains will be incredible and I beleive it because my mechanic only speaks the truth. Soon as everything is back I will post results of how it drives and will get Dyno numbrs up there ASAP.

Good luck! A lot of people will be watching this thread.

How do they know they got 20hp from the TCU?

What is TCU? Is it stand for "Telematic Control Unit"? What exactly benefit from program TCU? What different between ECU, TCU, and DME?

Sorry for throwing many questions. It would benefit myself and others for future reference and beef up my knowledge.

Thank you,

You don't hear the term TCU on our cars much because the programming is vastly different.

These guys are probably accustomed to programming Mercedes cars where this is very common on the automatic gearbox and the term is used often.

I'm very skeptical of any claims from new tuners like this.

I was a little skeptical and almost backed out of it untill my mechanic told me they would develope the software on my ECU and TCU and give me a great price. So I jumped. After seeing MHP make over 1000RWTRQ and ridiculously high RWHP numbers on the 65 series Mercedes AMG series motors, I think I could suck it up and trust them with a Naturaly aspirated V10 M6

I hope they live up to their claims, but there's a big difference between yanking another 20hp from a N/A engine and getting that same power from a turbo'd engine like they're used to...
