Nor am I. This woman has probably long learned that she doesn't need to command a lot of facts and history to get ahead. She doesn't even need to think through things carefully. She just 'relates' and people seem to fall for her.

One of her former debate opponents in Alaska was interviewed this morning and he said most of the time he had no idea what she was saying. But in the end, people still responded to her and she 'won' the debate.

This is, in part, what I mean by 'gullible'. Most Americans seem to lack all critical faculties. They respond to personality and feeling. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Palin resurrects the 'Palin Factor' with tonight's debate. Even if she babbles, there are plenty who seem willing and happy to look beyond the obvious -- that this person has no business being where she is.

NP Dave. It just seems like I keep defending statements that I never made/positions I haven't taken. That link scared the crap out of me, and I'm waiting for *someone* to explain to me why it shouldn't.

I have a customer in AK. Huge Libertarian. VERY rabid, anti-gvt guy. HATES GWB. When I asked him about Palin, he said: "Well... I hate to say it, but she did a great job". *I* like her. Does that mean I would've picked her? No. I said at the 2004 RNC that a combo of McCain and Guliani would be unbeatable in 2008' (Didn't know who'd be on top of the ticket).I still believe that. Not that I like either, but I think they'd have been unbeatable. I think with Palin, McCain threw a Hail Mary pass when he had a 2 touchdown lead. Maybe it'll work, but it's looking doubtful. But, like I said, the bar is set so low here that she'd have to be a complete moron to not hop over it. I hope she does well, because, while I don't like McCain, I think O'Bama would be a disaster (And I'm still waiting for anyone to explain exacly why he wouldn't be).

I used to dislike Obama (because he is a democrat and I am against democrat's tax policy) but after seeing McCain's performance and Sarah Palin's stunts, I have to say I am ready to brace for 8 years of stupid democrats.

Disliking McCain is not a valid reason for liking or embracing Obama. I am very much against McCain and especially that Nazi Palin, but my dislike for the Republican ticket is only overshadowed by my seething hatred towards Democratic policies in general, especially those embodied by Obama.

I didn't say embrace man, I said brace, as in brace for impact. I wish America had a real choice in its candidates.

You know what is funny, America has tougher rules for allowing immigrants in than the bar for its presidential and vice presidential candidates. You have to be smart first of all, you have to have real education and a track record of success, it bothers me that idiots like these have a shot at being our president, I left Pakistan hoping for a bright future for myself and my children and here I am afraid that a woman who tries to ban books from libraries has a real shot at becoming the President of United States. How are we to compete against India and China, if we keep rewarding the retards based on stupid criteria like religious dogma or looks? How can we maintain our position as the number one place people want to move to when they grow up? I am concerned and deeply frustrated.

Palin was PAINFUL to watch.

Biden should be on the top of the ticket. Obama sucks (so does Joe, but he's better than Barrack).

Can we PLEASE have Bloomberg?

This like it or not is the intrinsic beauty of this country....any schmoo can run for political office...what I take some solace in is that IN SPITE of this circus called a Presidential Election...there are still MANY MANY more people trying to immigrate into the US..(Legal or otherwise) than ANY other country in the world...which should tell you something....that opportunities are still greater here than anywhere else...if you are willing to work hard..take chances...& learn.
Regards
S
BTW: I am a 1st generation American...my parents came to the US when they HAD to learn the language to get ahead as opposed to everything being written in their native tongue...they learned to assimilate into their new home.
