Europe Trip Suggestions (yes another...in Feb though)

I'm going to be heading to London a week into Feb to help lead a multi-National conference for my company (Skanska) and while I'm there I wanted to take advantage of the "free flight" and do some traveling...

...the good thing is that Feb is pretty much an off season (as far as I know) the bad thing is that there is the reason Feb is an off season; the weather isn't as favorable. Back in June I spent 3 weeks in Europe with my girlfriend since we graduated college and traveled to London, Stockholm (AWESOME place but I'm going to guess it will be too cold...and dark), Rome and the Amalfi coast. It was a GREAT trip, wasn't too busy and the weather was GORGEOUS; 70's everywhere including Stockholm.

So I love Europe and will have roughly 5 days to do whatever I want. I REALLY wanted to go to Nurburing to ride in the "M5 Taxi" (hopefully with Sabine ) but I found out that they don't run the taxi from Oct. through April due to the climate. So that is out until a later date, which is fine because it gives me an excuse to go back to Europe ...

I thought about Paris but I'll save that for a "special" trip with my g/f? Besides who likes the french...

I'm coming back in '09 to do a tour of Scotland with my mom's side of the family to find their "heritage" (the McKenzie clan?) so I'll do the whole castle seeing and hopefully St. Andrews golf round then...

I've also thought about Prague, Berlin or the Netherlands but I have no idea where I should go. I've heard great things about them all too which makes it pretty hard...

I will more than likely be traveling alone which is fine as I can do things "my way", however having a travel partner never hurt either and it won't be as much fun to go out at night and stuff like that.

So with all that said, is there anywhere that you guys would recommend I go? ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Take care,
James

Skanska, that is a Swedish company! Come to Sweden

I would say Praque and Berlin. Berlin have really been a large metroplitan city the last 10 years, I havent been there for a long time.

Why not Munich? Or Geneva in Switzerland is beautiful!

Prague is very cool, and if you go there, take a side trip to Chesky Krumlov, just south of Prague. I am also biased for Vienna.

Gustav how did I know you'd probably be one of the first ones to chime in?

Yes sir, you are indeed correct, Skanska is Swedish and from what I gather they do a goo bit out there . I'd LOVE to go back to Stockholm and to be honest I seriously thought about it. It was the cleanest, nicest, friendliest city I think I've ever been to. I have some friends there who want me to visit but I think I might have to save it for the spring/summer months. I'm not sure which will get to me first, the cold or the darkness! Heck when I left this past June it was light out at 330 in the morning! I will definately be back again though and I will shoot you a note then too, I'd love to meet you if you'd have the time!

Hmmm Munich and Geneva would both be great places to visit as well! Like I said, I'm open to just about ANYTHING at this point, just trying to get some feedback. I know pretty much anywhere I go will be a blast, except there are ALOT of "anywheres" over there.

Fly into Bordeaux, have a good look round or stay overnight (great food and wine, bonny place) pick up a hire car and drive South to Northern Spain.

Stay in San Sebastian and soak up the Basque culture and wine. Drive through Rioja country and head for Barcelona. Stay a night or two and try Los Caracolos for dinner. Fly back to London.

Can I come???
