Those guys are overpriced on everything anyway. That is unacceptable service. Too bad BMW north america can't step up to do anything about it. That's a shame. I live pretty close to Brecht, but I travel to Los Angeles to South Bay BMW to buy my cars.

Dealer Behavior

Unfortunately it's not. Once the dealership has your money they lose interest in a hurry. And God forbid if you should approach them, and ask them to do something they're supposed to do (accept the return of a leased vehicle which had been leased elsewhere) and which has no upside monetary potential for them, this is what you can expect to get.

Still such poor business on both the dealership and BMWNA...I understand they are franchises but most franchises, even ones of much less value and prestige have some stringent rules to follow and if you dont follow them they dont have to renew your franchise agreement. BMWNA should really crack down on situations like this, that is just beyond poor customer service. Does BMWNA really believe that we, consumers in general, care if they are franchises? We want to be treated fairly regardless.

You would think that they care what we the consumers think. I remember when the dealers would call you after a service appointment and beg you to rate them as "5" when the corporate surveyors called. But unfortunately I've seen too many incidents like this lately to make me think anyone cares any more. BMWNA where are you?

I know my dealership cares, or at least they seem to. They have the cards and ask that if you arent rating them all "5"'s speak to management so they can improve their service. I actually dont have any complaints yet with them. Same with my previous dealership's (2)

I'd start at the top and write a letter to Tom Purves, Chairman & CEO of BMW of North America, LLC. In most major organizations these "presidential complaint" letters get prompt attention.

+1 Rich, I agree that BMWNA should take necessary action in repremanding occurances such as the one detailed within the post. She was with her kids!?That's just Abusive behavior for no monetary gain. I know that it all boils down to dollars and cents but if they'd done their jobs and accepted said vehicle they may have gained another future customer. I've always purchased my M's but leased non-M's and have returned the leased vehicles to other dealerships with no hassle. What happened to "the customer is always right"? Maybe it's something to do with the west coast mentality too (no offense the folks in the west coast). I had relocated to Diego for a year for work and tried to get my then e46 M3 serviced. I took it to SDCounty BMW and they turned me away stating that I should take it to my service center associated to my purchasing dealership!?! WHA!? I had to take it to Pacific BMW in Glendale just to get the service. I know it's a different topic (service) but BMWNA customer relations needs to change as a whole. Not to be dis-loyal but I have not heard one MB owner complaining about sales and service. My .02
