BMW, Let's be truthful here.............

EVERYONE HATES your newly designed wrap around headlights with the angry eyebrow turning signals, the BIG bloated trunk design, so why can't you (BMWAG) come to grips with this issue and fact, do the right thing and get rid of these unpleasant features on the new 5 series ?
Any thoughts/comments on this guys?
PS Overall I think the car (new 5 series) is a depressing car.

dNA3D Ugh, everything else seems fine, except those front and rear headlights. Side profile, its gorgeous.

Vadim-SoCal It looks like it was designed by a freshman at one of the Arts colleges.

It has potential, but it is still raw. Like the tools used create the model were too primitive, dull.

BMW's new look? Shock and Gasp

I have loved BMW's for many years. I have owned many BMW's (including 2 M3's and my current E-39 M5), been a club member for years, attended many club events, soundly supported BMW and local activities but now all that is under review I'm sad to say. My two cents: The new design philisophy is comical. Where is any hint of class? There's no flow to the lines only shock and walk. I used to say I'd never have any other car but a BMW but times they are a changin'. Audi's are more simple and less risky but they look much better. The Mercedes SL-class cars have so much more class and are absolutely gorgeous. Sure, neither marque has cars that drive like a BMW but I don't care how good or fun the car is, if it's ugly I won't and I don't think as many other people will buy it either. I wouldn't marry an ugly woman no matter how good she... cooks either. Looks are subjective I know but as they say beauty is skin deep but ugly is to the primer. Call me shallow, call me whatever you want but when I put down many, many thousands of dollars for a car it had better move me. And I don't mean just physically either. I don't want to be moved to chuckle or laugh.

Adam I like the first pic...i think that it shows good potential for the future M5...the other pics in the darker colours are just foul...

The space in between the wheel wells screams "Audi" to me. I think it's the proportion of the upper doors between the beltline (bottom of glass) and the character line that runs from the butterfly taillights to the Dame Edna eyebrows.

If the telltale Hoffmeister Kink wasn't adorning the C-pillar, I may well mistake this for something from Ingolstadt.
