Hello! New member with VERY low mile E39 M5

Hi all,

I bought a 2000 M5 a few weeks ago, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the car. Just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. My name is Andy, and I live in Tacoma, WA. The car only had 23,480 miles on it when I bought it, and it's like it's been in a time capsule, virtually flawless. I put new Goodyear Eagle F1s on it, and have changed the shift knob and E-brake handle to leather.

I look forward to tinkering with this beast. I feel like I have hidden superpowers when I drive this car, because it has such a low profile, and can so quickly be put in 'BEAST MODE'!!
Anyway, talk to you soon.

Andy (sparkyandalert)

Hello Guys

I've been enjoying this forum for some time but have not actively participated. Previously owned an E46 330Ci back in 2003. Got myself an E60 M5 6 months ago and hope with this introductory, I can gain as much knowledge as I can from this Forum.

I look forward to learn from all the masters here......

Regards,
Nasri

The Hearse introduction.

Hi folks, i'm Steve from the Netherlands and i got a '92 Diamond black E34 touring (originally born as 520i) with a broken M30B35 sitting in there. The car is on decent race suspension and got a welded rollcage.

Recently i got myself a '89 M5 sedan as a donor, to give the Touring all the M-sport parts she needs :)

Car is used for trackdays and occaisionally some drifting.

If someone is looking for E34 bodywork or interior stuff, please let me know, i will put some ad's on the forum here later on.

New Guy

Hi Guys,

Bought a 2001 M5 a year ago in Los Angeles, brought it up to the bay area for the rest of it's life. Has 76k miles currently and it's been fun tinkering so far, looking forward to the years to come :grin

This board and community has been extremely helpful, so I thought I would finally get around to my first post. Thanks for starting / maintaining / running this board!

Hi,

I've been a BMW M owner for several years and recently decided to part with my E46 M3 (bone stock) when I came across a perfect E39 M5 that I had been searching for many years.
My car had SMG so it wasn't ideal, this was the main reason why I decided to trade it in.

I picked up last week a 2000 M5 carbon black on black leather with only 33k miles on it. 1 owner, all service records since day 1, babied by previous owner, absolutely pristine. It also has a good amount of Dinan upgrades:
- Front and back strut bars
- Suspension stage 3 shocks and springs, adjustable
- Sway bars, adjustable
- Monoball
- Free flow exhaust
- Aluminium pedals

Just spent about 20 hours detailing it but still not finished! Driving it is very different than the M3, a lot more torque and suspension feels amazing. I do not intend to mod the car in any way, Dinan parts are exactly what I wanted. I only ordered the rear lip that was factory removed when ordered.

I look forward to enjoying this car on sunny California weekends ;)

(I'm in the San Francisco Bay)

Hi all. My name's Trip (Daytripping) and I live in NC. I have been a guest lurker on the site for a few years, but just recently joined.

I've been a BMW owner for some time. I purchased a 1998 BMW e39 528i back in 2004. It was my first BMW and I still have it although it is getting up there in miles now. Owning the 528i is what drove me to recently purchase my latest addition, a 2001 M5 e39. It is black on black and all stock. I'm not sure what mods I may do to it, but I know this site is a great place to start for ideas. I absolutely love my new M5 and now realize why it has earned the nickname "The Beast".

Just wanted to say hi and to continue enjoying the site as a member.

Hey guys!
Been on E46 fanatics since I got my E46 330 9 years ago, and was more active with my E46 M3 that I had 4 years back. As some of you know, I sold my M3 last October before putting it in winter storage (Wisconsin winters) but recently picked up the new garage queen. Here's my E60 M5, it took a while to pull the trigger as I wanted a detailed vehicle history along with <65k miles. This one popped up as a Chicago garage queen where the driver meticulously dealer serviced it, drove it around 2k/year and sold it to me with 61k on the clock. It's an '07, so pre-LCI but I'm loving it.

Sorry if the pics aren't the best quality - camera phone pics.

Old Flame

Picked up this beaut (2002 M5) last week from Virginia Beach. Took me two years to find her, and I'm very happy I waited. Car is mint, with everything refreshed, including the clutch. Car has 91K on the clock. Has some mild tune on it, not too radical, but enough to push you into the seat.

Another newbie!

Hello all, I have been researching and lurking around for a few weeks. I am possibly in the market for a nice E60 M5 for my wife as a daily driver. She is currently driving a Jeep SRT8 and made a comment a while back that she wouldn't mind having a four door car. So I began my search for a family car that would offer some thrills and here I am!

Hi All,

Welcome from New Caledonia, a french island lost in the Pacific ocean, near Australia. So excuse me for my English in my future posts :)

Just purchased a 1999 E39 M5 from Japan, LHD Euro Spec, 68k miles, 100% stock.

Thanks to this forum a lot as I found very useful information to service my beast (Chain tensioner, VANOS information, seat motor, FSU, etc...) and no doubt I'll continue to read, read & read !!

Here is my Alpinweiss Beast

Hello M5Board!

I'm not new to Ms but I'll be picking up an 02 M5 in carbon black next week and it'll be my first 5. I had to test drive 3 before finding the right one, and I believe this one is it. It's got a healthy 103k on the odometer but the previous owner was a nut (in a good way) so I'm happy with it.

In the meantime, check out my 95 M3 that I've maintained for the past 3 years. I tried selling it this month but couldn't bring myself to do it.
