MP3 disc creation guide

I have been through and tested the instructions, and it produces a disk which plays in my M6.

Thanks Tim- I just read through it quickly and this seems like a very helpful guide for many people.

Re: MP3 disc creation guide

But what does it display in the entertainment screen? I tried to take some shots earlier, but as it is pitch black outside the fastest shutter speed I could get was 1/4 sec so they are blurred. I'll take some tomorrow.

Re: MP3 disc creation guide

I've got rather a busy day today - yet another appointment to try to sort out back pain for those that have been following the saga. (There's also the small matter of the last day of a game of cricket going on in Pakistan that I'd like to watch this morning!) I'll show you what my display looks like later on today, and you can judge for yourself whether the extra effort is worth it. I've gone to great lengths to 1. Make sure each album and track name is listed in full, and 2. To eliminate the 2 digit track number pre-pended to the name so that they play in the right order.

The document may look a bit daunting at first, but 99% of it is initial set-up. Once done the process of ripping and encoding is almost automatic. Creating the image involves just half a dozen mouse clicks and a couple of keypresses per album.

I'm very open to feedback - there may be other easier ways of achieving the same end result, but as far as I'm concerned EAC and LAME are the only way to go to produce top quality mp3s. I spent quite a bit of time and loads of CDRs trying and MP3BR Imager is the only way I could achieve my personal goals...

Re: MP3 disc creation guide

They aren't the best photos in the world, but they should show why I went to the trouble I did. Albums shows the list of folders (album names), Tracks is derived purely from filenames. When details is turned on (press in the controller and scroll down, then tick the box) ID3 tags are retrieved for the currently playing track. The extra information is superfluous unless you are playing a compilation album.

Perhaps it's not working correctly due to dampness...? According to your display you appear to be driving through a lake
