Ferrari ENZO driving on local racetrack

Thanks to some of my local friends, I heard that a fellow with a ENZO was driving on the Pacific Raceway, a local racetrack around here the other day.

No pictures yet but here's a video:

ENZO going around the track

(Right click on the link and choose "Save Target As.")

The strange thing is that I think he was either a novice or just taking it easy.

I assume the driver was just taking it easy. Now those drivers in the corvette and the mustang can tell their friends they passed an Enzo on the track.

Jason, so it was a stick and not paddle shift??? Hmmmm, very interesting. I realize the guy was taking it easy but my god, to be out run by a vette, that's not right, no real reason to track it if a $55k sports car is gonna blow doors on you. My opinion only, Murph

I should clear something up. I did NOT take that video myself. I got it from a friend of mine who posted it on another site.

And the Enzo doesn't even come with a stickshift, only the paddleshifter.

I'm also not sure why he was taking it easy on the track, maybe that was just a warm up run?

And here are the pictures....

Pacific Raceway on 5-04-03

Ironically I was supposed to go to PR on that day but had backed out!

Hi all,

I was actually at the event yesterday. I talked to the guy a bit and he just took delivery of the car the day before the event. The car comes pre broken in and it was delivered with 300 miles on it.

I did not run with the same run group with him but he was taking it real easy and only booted it down the straight away. It sounded great. I have a few pictures of the car but they are not great though. I have a few shots of it coming into turn 9 and some of it in the pits.

Overall the event was good with too many people signing up. The weather was horrible and it basically rained all day.

The LMB M5 in the pictures is mine.

I still thought it was great that the guy took his day old Enzo out on the track in a rainy day.

I wish I had the chance to meet you this time out. We'll have other opportunities.

Thanks for the recap, VanM.

The Enzo belongs to an acquantance of mine named Dr. Gregory Whitten. He is an avid collector of historic racing cars from the early-1930s to the late-1960s. Lets just say that the contents of his massive collection would make most car enthusiasts salivate!

He just took delivery of the Enzo this past weekend. He told me that he took it super easy while at the track, mainly due to the fact that it had been raining most of the day.

By the way, Dr. Whitten was one of the first employees at Microsoft. I believe that he was Chief Software Architect for the Windows project.
