Better still. Get a video camera mounted and record everything. You can always analyse the data later, but first post it for us!!

When you reached that speed (theoretical top for stock M5), did you have plenty of throttle left? Were you still accelerating at a good rate? That should give you a good indication.

That was before the Nowack conversion and with the Powerchip/Tri-flo combo.
My co driver thought it had more as all he looked at was the taco/speedo....he should know and it did feel like it had another 10mph??

My Powerchipped (no CAI) M5 did 290 km/h (abt 181 mph) and I can swear it was still pulling (not hard), but I ran short of free highway space. I'm sure it would have ran the speedo up to the 'magic' 300 km/h.
Checked with the OBC once for speedo accuracy, it showed a difference of 2 (two) km/h at 260 km/h (258 according to the obc).

It was taped from the back seat, I was listening to 'Dixie Chicks' on cd, and since my right arm was on the way of the lens (she was zooming the speedo), I had only one hand (left) on the wheel. It was awesome, so rock steady you'd think I was doing only 200 km/h...my wife was really amazed how good the M5 behaved...and my smile was so big I looked like an idiot with new shoes!

You know, Apples is really a great guy and I feel that we are pushing him a little. I have been having sleepless night thinking of ambiente air temperature and tailwinds etc

Apples WE know and YOU know that the fire-breathing M5 you are driving will scare any passengers you drop in the back seat!!

317 kph is faster than take off speed for most aeroplanes.

The unknown is sometimes fun.

Eventually, the occaison will arise and the road will be there and then you will regret breaking the needle on your speedo!!

Marcello????.....Dixie Chicks????
