Fedde,

Agree about the policy premium.

I visited Kelleners site yesterday, and if i remeber correctly the stage II tuning was like 13.900 Euro!

Vince5,
I sure hope I'm wrong! Enjoy your newly improved beast.

Are you guys telling me that you haven't clearified what happens with claims if they discover that car is tuned and you haven't told them? I really hope that they can't turn down claims because of this.

Someone who knows for sure? Johann perhaps, who has two tuned cars?

Johann, BTW I think a saw your M5 a couple of months back, then it had a front spoiler in something that looked like Silverstone? Have you changed your front spoiler to some aftermarket spoiler?
Those RC's looked great!

So how would the insurance company discover that the car is tuned? They would never look inside the engine and even if they did they wouldn't know the difference. And even if they did they would probably not care that much unless they can prove that you were driving recklessly fast or so. At least as long as we are talking about claims for accidents, theft, etc. Machine insurance could be a problem but the insurance from Kelleners cover that.

Yeah that was mine at it looked terrible with that silver spoiler.
A friend drove my M5 and a woman ran a stop sign and he had to avoid here and crashed the spoiler against a curb. The silver spoiler was installed temporarily while waiting for the paint shop, which took long enough.

Thanks, the RCs look suprisinlgy good on the M5 don't they.

Cheers,
/Johan

Johan,
I saw your car as well parked in front of BMW Solna a few months ago ! I wondered what had happenned to you. I liked the brakes and the ACS suspension switch looks very neat.

SemiBeast,
Tune first and take the consequences later !
I am not too worried about the insurrance, my car still has less power than the official claim from BMW .... . In case of a theft how could they know ? In case of an accident I agree with Johan they would not see the difference and then they wouldn't have a case unless you got into the accident because of these mods i.e. at speeds above the linmiter ?

Enjoy your new sound and car...

By the way...do you have back seats you can fold forward? If
you can...drive the car with them down and the passanger
window slightly open and you will hear your exhaust in a wierd
stereo like manner!

All the best,

Fedde

Would really be intresting to compare sounds with my 540 Supercharger with M5-style "Uppsala Avgastteknik" System.

540is,
Your car seem really cool. I read an article about a supercharged 5er (owned by a swede) earlier in one of the swedish car magazines. It was at least 2 years ago. Was that your car ? (I think it was on the West coast but I don't remember for sure).

BBS RC

Johan,

Those rims sure look great. I believe that you posted that they are light as well. Considering RC for the Semeibeast, so if you know where I can get those wheels at a good price, I'd really appreciate it. We are really getting ripped off in Sweden, the prices are way higher then in Germany.

I guess you guys are right about the insurance companys not discovering the tuning, but does someone know for sure? My guess would be that they don't have to prove that the accident is due to the tuning. They would simply say that the insurance is invalid because the car is altered. Hopefully this is not the case, but I would look into it.
