Paid MSRP, 4 week wait from an out-of-state dealer in Edison NJ (Open Road) flew out to
the dealer on a Saturday, picked it up, drove into my driveway in Sunnyvale CA on Tuesday
with all the break-in milage done.
Had the the 1200mi service done by a dealer in Tulsa OK called Crown BMW bright and early
Monday morn with only a call the previous Thu, they had me on the road by 9am !!!
By the end of the trip was very familiar with the car.
Was a lot of fun and would do it again.
Brutus.

I got mine in NJ for MSRP. The NJ dealer (asked not to be indentified) has arranged delivery with a Bay Area dealer. The prep work and delivery will be done by the local dealer.. IN DECEMBER!!! Can't wait...

I'm new to this Board, which I learned about when I was in Spartanburg, and after reading these posts, I have to admit I'm feeling like "scheiss" for paying $10k over MSRP, the dealers around here wouldn't do anything less when I placed my order in Nov '00. But hey, it's only money and it's a fabulous car, right?

Welcome to the board. I live in Roseville, and there are a couple of others on this board from the Sacramento area. Drop me a line at p_seastrand@yahoo.com and we can compare notes.

Well, I looked in the classified section of our newspaper on the saturday, told my father about it, went at the dealership on the same day to test drive it and bought it at MSRP right away. Took delivery the following tuesday so that's a three day wait.
Got lucky on that one because my father was about to go order a 2001 lemans blue for January delivery. But when we saw that, we got our M5 in October. Nice!

got mine at $3600 dollars over MSRP which isn't too bad I thought especially considering that mine should be here in July.

$0. Right place, right time, know the right people and be a good customer. Better to be lucky than good.
