Charles, the meeting on the 23rd February will be held at the 'The Royal Standard of England' pub in Beaconsfield. Will post details once they have been fully confirmed. You would be most welcome and we expect about 10 - 20 m3s, M5s, Z8 plus sundry others. Hope to see you there
If the knock sensor is responding, it is perhaps hearing deatonation. My concern is that only the 8th cylinder is knocking, making me believe that the air/fuel mix may be off....check the injector. If not, then the port volume may not be equall to the other 7 cylinders....Good Luck

Man, I was heart broken reading Charles experience with Nowack. I do feel for you Charles, and for the M5 engineers who's pioneering hard work can be destroyed by a few "enthusiasts" who obvisously need to do more real world testing. $50.000.00 is a lot of money for you to pay someone to "experiment" on your car. This is reality of such modifications, and the 100 hp isn't worth the money or emotional upheaval. To me, this confirms that Dinan, along with AC Scnitzer do know what they are doing. "Performance with Sacrifice". You want a faster car, buy one. Why anyone would mutilate such a wonderful, well built engine, on a "work of art car" is beyond me.
Afetr reading your saga, I cannot imagine what it would have been like if you lived in the states and had to have the travel for both you and your car. Not to mention the issues you encountered after the fact, but I believe the Dinan option would have been much preferred. I realize that it is easy to mention this in hind sight.
I am afraid that if I were in your shoes and found out that Norwack had comprimised the safety aspect of my car and thus endangered me, I would be very inclined to force them to pay for a new M5. Very sad on their part.
Good luck with your car going forward. Thank you for sharing your experience in detail. Sorry that I had missed this post from the past.

So they will be aware of the fact, that the guys on this board know what took place with Charle's M5 nightmare experience and his some what ruined car! Someone please do it. I don't know how ( very bad with computers) otherwise I would forward the ENTIRE theard to the Nowack people. Thanks.
Robert
Due to the length of the original post in this thead, didn't have the time to read it until now. I feel really bad for you, I can't believe that all those problems occurred!! I agree with FAST, someone should forward this to Nowack and let them know that NO ONE from this forum will EVER get their cars modified by them.
