    Hi Bryon
The clicking is either the stepper motor for stop speed cut.
Or, it could be the cruise control module playing up.
Send me a picture of the offending part & I will help.
Send any pics or data to :

he farrell,,,I am convinced that over here in canada, they don,t know much about these e34 m5s,,,,anyway,,,,I don,t know who to turn to,,,,so you are the most knowledgable person I know,,,,,there is a cable that attaches to the throttle bar that isn,t the throttle cable,,,it attaches to the bar, closest to the firewall, it goes to a box affair that has a pyramid sticking up from the box, and the cable is through the top centre of the pyramid,,,,from there it goes to the throttle bar which is on the top of the engine,,,,and the box clicks or ticks quite loudly,,,,once I turn the key on, the motor doesn,t have to be running,,,,and clicks after I turn the motor off some times,,,,if I pull on the cable which is connected to the throttle bar, the clicking speeds up,,,,what is this mechanism and what should I do,,,is it important,,,please in your busy day if you find time to answer,,,could you please,,,

Hi Farell sent a friend thingy as I noticed that it's getting rather quiet on here (well the quality suffered somewhat as well) Funnily my little enterprise fixing M's and Alpinas is getting more and more busy as word goes round. Currently work on an e21 A4/3 No21 and start a mobile diagnostic and Programming as well soon (still testing and mesing with it) for BMW and Porsches as Orga. Development and Manager Coaching pretty much vcame to a halt with the totaly fecked Irish fiscal situation. Hope talk soon Chris.
P.S Our "friend" is a mechanic now? Jesus Christ times must be hart over there as well ;-)

    Sir Farrell-

I recently picked up an E34 M5, chassis # BK05916, that is fitted w/ the original calipers and brackets. I would like to re vamp the brake system. I was thinking of using stainless lines, ATE superblue fluid, HAWK HPS pads, and slotted rotors. This setup is currently installed on 2 of my other cars and has worked quite well for my needs (Mostly street driving, aggressively at times, with the occasional autocross). First I was having trouble finding slotted rotors, but can get drilled rotors relatively locally through Turner Motorsport. I've typically avoided drilled rotors for fear of cracking near the holes. Any thoughts here? Secondly, I ran accross your Darjack pads on the message board. Are they available for customer install apps, and if so, how much do they cost shipped to USA zip code 21209? Are they available for both front and rear axles? I prefer that my friction material match, but if this is not possible, I'm open to suggestions.

    thanks,

    Rob

ps. It seems that you'd be the S38 guru 'round these parts...I'd love to pick your brain on a few things over the comming months, if you're willing to answer some questions at your convenience.

Hi Farrell, long time no speak! I have been very busy barely had time to get on the board. You probably remember my car needed some suspension work. I think it is all done as me and my mechanic friend did it between us, well actually he did it while I brought him cups of tea! I would have brought it to you but I really need to save the pennies. I was wandering if you do kds alignment and if you do how much do you charge? the car feels better but it still isnt as planted as my old 528 sport, although that did have all new suspension when i got it. I hope you dont think im too cheeky after asking you to do the work then doing it myself, you may find all that needs doing isnt complete!!
I hope you and your family are keeping well and your busines is doing great?
    Cheers

    Hi,

I have seen the thread about the Bilstein kit for the e34 M5 and I would be interested in purchasing one. I have a 93 Touring (3.8) with EDC. The EDC is working currently, but I don't know when it is going to fail and I would like to be prepared as I use the car quite frequently. I seem to have read that this kit is not for the Touring. If not, do you have anything for the Touring?
    thanks
    regards
    adam
