    New member on the board. Just purchased an 2001 M5, but have had a 1988 e24 M6 since 1999. Entirely different from the E39, but both bring a smile. :)

    What color is that? Is it artic blue metallic? I had an M635 that was imported into the US via Hardy and Beck via a dealer in France and it was artic blue (looks a lot like yours). Loved that color...

    Definately use a 10/60 oil. These engines do not use oil - assuming everything is in good condition. They can leak all over the place, not always obvious from oil drops on drive.....
