New sponsor to BMW board, & sale on lightweight batteries

Hi all,

Just want to let everyone know, we've decided to become sponsors on the BMW board in order to reach out to more customers! Our main product is a lightweight battery system.

The BMW M3 and M5 are relatively heavy cars, and reducing weight is one of the best ways to increase performance. By replacing your OEM lead-acid battery with a lightweight nano-lithium battery system, you can save over 55 pounds! This is much more cost effective on a pound for pound basis than titanium parts or carbon fiber parts (though many get carbon fiber more for the aesthetics).

Our most popular product is the VPH700 and VPH900 batteries (VPH700 pictured below). They weigh 5.25 and 7 pounds, and come with a low voltage disconnect feature to prevent any damage to the battery (along with preventing the user from ever returning to a dead battery!).

We are offering to the M5board only, a discount on our VPH700, VPH900, and VPH1200 models of $500. We recommend the VPH700 with 700 cranking amps for M3's, while the M5 requires at least the VPH900 with 900 cranking amps. The discount of $500 is given as a refund after purchase, just mention your M5board.com username when checking out. This discount is good until the end of January, but it may end earlier depending on if we sell out.

Private Message me if you have any questions!

Thanks for reminding me about the lightweight battery. I was looking at getting the cf roof next

Any worries of the car not starting if it was left for a couple of days?

A couple of days won't do it, but if you left the car for few weeks it may drain the battery down. It depends on the electrical draw of the car, it could be just a week, or 3 weeks, etc, our M3 still starts after a month using a VPH700.

Before the battery is completely drained, though, the low voltage cutoff (LVC) will disconnect the battery, leaving enough power to still start the car a few times. You press a button located on the battery to turn it back on, and then start the car. We put a video demo of the features here:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

The original reason we added this feature was to prevent damage to the battery (if a battery is overdischarged, it can be damaged). But it has the added benefit of preventing dead batteries!
