Ipod Intergrated + Interface (spec.dock)

I've talked to the owner of 2point5 and he's willing to give us BMW guys a group discount on his integrated ipod cradle. The ipod crade will replace the ashtray in the car and also include OEM BMW original interface. Of course it will charge your ipod as well.

It will support 30gb videos and also nanos.

The projected group buy rate with BMW interface ($299 retail) will be $359-$369 shipped. I need at least 15 people to be able to get it at this price. Normally its $399.

Install is tedious and requires minor drilling for wires. Took me 4 hours first try. Probably 2 hours now since I know what I'm doing. If you are in the SoCal area, I will install it for you... this way you don't have to pay $200+ at BMW just for labor.

2point5 Dock + ipod interface Full Install: $95
Just the ipod interface install: $50

Once pricing is confirmed, I'm going to request a 25 dollar refundable deposit to get the name on the list. Then once I get 15 people, you will pay Randy directly and you'll get your deposit back.

His website is www.2point5.com

Is it possible for me to see the installation instruction?
I was just wondering how hard it would be for me to tackle it myself and if it requires any trimming or drilling at all.

You basically have to remove all the wood trim and climate control dash. Drill a hole in the ashtray for the wire to go through. That's it. I did it myself, tedious and you have to know what your doing because you might scratch the wood.

I use to install stereo systems in cars and I thought this install was sorta hard just because I was scared of crackking or scratching the wood.

So its basically the ipod interface that bmw sells, but now the ipod will plug right into the ashtray instead of in the glove box?

IMHO Ipod is better of in the glovebox if you have interface. If you are using AUX, this would be great.
