So my increased emissions has been on for a few months now. When I took it to the dealer they quoted me around 16k for the job. They said the entire exhaust system was bad? Is that even possible? Has anyone ever heard of this or know any approach/ideas I should take to getting rid of this light. I've cleared the light but it'll come back on after 15 min of driving. Please help I miss driving the beast. It's been parked four months. It's a 2006 with 74k miles.
I think you need to purchase a scanner to read the malfunction codes. My increased emission light comes on sometimes when i run race gas in it and am stuck in traffic...goes off and on,its tempermental. But nuthin' to worry much about.
If there is no loss of performance, get the scanner, and publish the codes that show up. Jcolley, the moderator here can then help you!
You posted this in the "Group Buy" section rather than the e60 section. People aren't going to see your post unless they are also looking at the stuff for sale here.
There is no loss of performance, I just shut her down because dealership said it needed the entire exhaust replaced and what was happening was that the engine was essentially drowning itself in its own exhaust? I am curious if anyone else had this issue.
