I was looking into a means to log (thread here) several parameters from the S85 DME and was recommended to check out this piece of software:

It looks promising and the price is already reasonable. Well, after contacting the guy who wrote it, he offered a group buy price, so here goes. For less than the price of half a tank of gas, you get:

Check out the free demo download (works to some degree) and play around with it. If you already have a cable, you're all set. If not, here is a cable known to work with cars built before and after 3/2007:
