Hi I've been interested in the tune for quite some time. Just wondering if I could get some information on the difference between having the stage 2 tune compared to having both the stage 2 tune + alpha N tune as well. What would i gain out of having the Alpha N tune on top of the stage 2? Also what are the pricing differences between the alpha N with stage 2 and just the stage 2 group buy. Also is there any other options for the tune that could make the car drive better/more aggressive? Thanks for the help.

Nope, no difference in the tune or the company, except that you have support in your time zone!

Alpha-N eliminates the MAF's this keeps the cars performance consistent. The MAF's are known to degrade over time and this degradation hurts the performance of your car. Due to the complexity of the Alpha-N tune, it is $1199.00 and can't be discounted. So you would pay $1199.00 for the Stage 2 + Alpha-N.

I've owned an E39 for a while and eliminating the MAF's was a big deal for us as they are a pain in the arse... I can imagine it's the same deal on the E60. You can think of it this way, the car requires 2 MAF's about every 40-50kmiles for around $600.00. If you got the Alpha-N tune you never have to buy MAF's again and slowly start paying it back...

For the car to feel more aggressive, I would just start with the Stage 2 or Stage 2 Alpha-N, and if you want the throttle map more aggressive (smaller movements of the pedal make larger movements in the throttle plates...)

What i mean was that would i need a separate tune for either the throttle bodies or differential. Or will the stage 1 and 2 tune accommodate for those changes. I heard someone say that i would need a more advanced tune for the throttle bodies i thought. thanks

to answer your questions, if you're looking to gut your cats soon, go ahead and get the tune for gutted cats, shouldn't change power dramatically.

Since the cables are tied to your VIN, you just need to get another cable...

About the Extras!

With the Evolver and our ECU software, you not only get our highly developed tuning solution for your vehicle, you also get:
  • CHANGE OF CAR DISCOUNT If you are changing vehicle only pay the cost of a replacement evolve-R unit. No ECU software fees will apply!*
  • STAGE UPGRADE DISCOUNT Want even more power? If a second or third stage exists for your vehicle that you have the mods for, you receive discounts for upgrading (price dependent upon vehicle and stage, please ask for details).
  • REPLACEMENT CAR DISCOUNT If you replace your car for a like for like engine model you pay only for a replacement Evolver unit! No ECU software fees will apply!*
*Upto a maximum of 2 times. Applicable only to vehicles tuneable by Evolver units.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there any specific reason why you can not sell to Australia? Is there an exclusive reseller here or something? Wouldnt the tunes be more or less the same (with compensation for the 98 octone of course).

Mark

Sal can accommodate this when you order you put your list of mods in the notes section of the order so that Sal has a record of them when he's doing your tune. Further send it again in the email you send to him with your tune file...
