I would love to upgrade to the new nav but if this is one of those mods that can cause trouble in the future it might not be for me. I am not one to take good money and spend it on something that could possibly give me problems down the road. The nav system right now works fine. It is dated and runs really slow but it works consistently. If you feel this is something that will give me a problem in the future please let me know. I am a very busy guy and do not have time to trouble shoot nav/climate control problems. Thanks!

The LCI A/C panel does not work in a pre-LCI car. You will have to keep the existing one.
You should rather keep the existing controller as well, since it looks like there is a lot of hassle to fit the new one.
Just read reviews from other guys here who have already done it. I don't want to tell you if you should or shouldn't do it.
I have it installed in my car as well and I am so happy about it. My car feels like the 2009 model while it's the 2006 one
Maybe someone who has retrofitted the CIC could chime in...
