CA AUTOMOTIVE STAGE 2 REMAP FOR E60 M5:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o> </o> After many weeks of development and testing work in conjunction with our partner company AL Tuning, we are releasing our “Stage 2 “ ECU remap for the stock E60 M5, produces between 54- 60 bhp, on 98 + Oct fuel. <o></o> <o> </o> As you can see from the dyno charts, the before and after power runs were carried out on the same day, on the same dyno, within 4 hrs of each other for maximum accuracy, no tricks, exaggerated correction factors or other funny business <o></o> <o> </o> Our test M5 has now covered 8500k HARD miles on track and road at speeds up to 213 mph (indicated) with no deleterious effects at all from this upgrade. <o></o> <o> </o> This remap includes updating the OEM engine and gearbox software to the latest versions. <o></o> <o> </o> Cost is £790.00 inc vat ...no result ..no charge !<o></o>
The dealer will be able to tell it is remaped? Also what if there is a complete wipe flash by the dealer? If we send it back will there be a charge? Or is it a buy it now, get free re-falshes if something happens??
Here we go with these damn dyno numbers i seriously don't get how they possibly can be making so much more with just a ecu flash its practically impossible without compromising drive ability. believe it or not
i have officially gave up on these damn dyno numbers we got one guy with just a cat and resonator delete making 477 and another making 427
then on the other hand we got people with most bolt on upgrades making 463 and now we have this 476 to 538 with a tune?????????????
That is absolutely insane if you ask me
CA, did this tune reset the factory adaptive maps? I've heard of a few stories where a tune looks like it produces significant gains right after the car is programmed but then after a period of time, when the car is dynoed again, it shows a loss. One explanation for this is that the factory adaptive maps are reset or erased so the car initially makes a lot of power but once the car's ECU adjusts again over time, it will pull back the gains.
we appreciate your comments and doubts, the whole world of ECU mapping can seem daunting and confusing to a customer, a situation not always helped by us tuners.
We will explain as much as we can without divulging our secrets:
1. this power gain is genuine and we invite any tests, but obviously we cannot divulge exactly how we achieve this. By the way, we are not the FIRST tuner to achieve these results, that honour goes to the God of mapping we tuners call Mr X..he knows who he is
2. we have NOT cleared adaptions (why would we?), but even if we had we are not aware of any situation where ECU adapting would then lower the power output. If we dyno the car again today, the power gain will still be at the same level ( obviously exact output will vary slightly according to the days climate and other factors, but not by much). We are happy to do this and post up the chart if enough members call for it.
3. drivability is not compromised... ( again why would it be ?); rather the reverse
4. finally did you read the last line of my first post ? About "no results no charge " ? What more can we say ?
I am off for weekend now but will reply back to any more questions Monday, a good weekend to all and thanks for reading .
You know what the problem with internet forums are?
Majority of members on them are North American! So I would understand the convenience of dealing with North american high street tuners, compared to European tuners thousands of miles away! Perhaps we can get CA Automotive to host UK and European members for a dyno and tune day out! Just like what the Americans do!
An example would be CA Auto's group mapping in Bahrain. Myself and perhaps one other guy are members here. The rest aren't.
I myself have a custom Stage 2 tune made for me by Mike. I am desperate to run a Stage 2 RPi M5! I don't even care about my dyno results. But I know what my car can do on the street!

Yeah I agree that the majority of the members here are in North America and a significant part of their purchase decision is based on convenience. That said, I think people wouldn't hesitate to send their ECUs across the pond if they have complete confidence in the gains being claimed.
Same as you claimed a few years ago, wasn't proven then not proven now. Get a memeber in europe to independantly dyno his car, install this remap then go back to indy dyno and post results, then it might be believed
Well I would have this done If you were in the neighbourhood (acrossed the pond ) but sending my ECU is not to my liking. I want to know if it works right away when its done, not putting it in and wait.
