The ECU remap involves the following:

1. Remove/Increase Factory Rev Limiter
2. Remove Speed Limiter
3. Alter throttle response
4. Advance fuel timing

The tune consists of adjusted throttle response, ignition timing adjustments, fuel trim, speed limit eliminated, smoother shifting. We had asked Powerchip to not raise the rev limit because we have seen an ongoing pattern of BMW NA checking to see if rev limits have been raised. They are refusing to do warranty work on such vehicles.

Yup, send money and send ECU. You need at least 7 to 10 days with your car disabled at home.

And then the hassle of commercial invoicing and insurance and tax (return and repair)..... anti-static wrapping etc etc

Send the ECU to us. The speed limit will be eliminated with the PC performance tune. Typically, the ECU is sent out the following business day. Average downtime for your car is about 3 days (1 day to ship it to us, we ship it the next day and on the 3rd day you get the ecu back.)

You do pick up a few hp and get everything else as mentioned above. Most people start with simple bolt on mods like the ram air intake first though.

I hope you realise where he's living?

The fastest you can get his ECU to him will take 3 days FEDEX EXPRESS PRIOROTY! That's 6 days in transit total, and if it falls on his weekend ( Friday/Sat ).. then that's another day lost!

I have done this so many times with Powerchip either directly or through associated tuners like Discovery Auto, 7 to 10 days MINIMUM!!
