Bimmer Performance Store Show Us Your M5/M6 Photo Contest

Hi Guys,

Many of you might be familiar with us from M3forum, BimmerForums, E46fanatics, BimmerPost and our ads in Bimmer Magazine. To introduce ourselves here at M5board we are running a photo contest for the M5 & M6 owners. This contest is co-sponsored by Rogue Engineering and the 1st prize will be a Bimmer Performance Store $250 gift certificate good toward the purchase of any Rogue Engineering product. The contest will be for the month of June and will by judged by myself and Ben Liaw of Rogue Engineering.

So, Bob...how do I win. Well...here's what we're looking for. Your photos will be judged based on 3 criteria:
  1. Quality of the photo (remember it's a photo contest, so a bad picture of a great car probably won't win)
  2. Creativity of the composition of the photo (eg. interesting background, lighting, positioning of the car, long-exposure night shots, etc)
  3. Mods on the car

You don't have to be a professional photographer, but the quality of the photo will be the most important. Part of terms of this contest is you will give Bimmer Performance Store permission to display these photos on our gallery page (hey, your car will be famous!!) and/or for use on product pages if they display a product we sell.

What???? Only ONE prize. NOPE, we want to motivate everyone to send in pictures, so the top 3 photos will all be winners. So, here is the breakdown of the prizes:

1st place - $250 BPS gift certificate for the purchase of any Rogue Engineering product
2nd place - $100 BPS gift certificate for the purchase of any M5/M6 product
3rd place - $50 BPS gift certificate for the purchase of any M5/M6 product

Please email your photos to sales@bimmerperformancestore.com.

Legal Mumbo Jumbo
Oh, BTW, by submitting your photo(s), you are giving us the rights to use these photos on our website, so you have to be the owner of the photos. If the photo you want to send is from magazine article, another web site or is otherwise owned by someone else, or there is any other reason why we can't legally use your photo then you can't submit that photo for this contest. For example, my E46 M3 was in Bimmer Mag last October and the pics in that article belong to Bimmer Mag. I took my own photos at the shoot and I can use those.

We're really excited to be here at M5board and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Thanks,

Bob DeLellis, President
Bimmer Performance Store, Ltd.

When you say creativity of composition, is that extended to photoshop/creatively altering the photo? Even though I suck at photography, I might be able to spice it up elsewhere.

Hi M5Froth,

PS editing is fine. "Fix it in the mix!!!" Feel free to be creative. Sometimes adding a gausian blur to the surrounding things in a pic can draw the eye to the focal point of the photo.

Check out these 2 M6 pics. The top one was taken by Borla's professional photographer in their studio.

This one was done at a Borla photoshoot in Oxnard, CA with the Pacific Ocean in the background.

I took this pic that's being used as a header image in our online store with my Sony A100 DSLR at a photoshoot with my car and a 335 for BMW Car Magazine. The shutter was open about 30 seconds, and it was completely dark when the pic was taken.

Check out this pic of a Straßentech trunk lip. The pic was taken on the street in front of our office and I PS'd the Pacific Ocean in from another pic.

So, go have fun and be creative.

Bob

Hi Elyas,

End of June, so you have plenty of time, and you can submit as many as you want.

Impressive mod list on your M3. Looks a lot like mine, except I kept US spec headers and went with 3.91s instead of 4.10s.

Alas...the part out begins soon in anticipation of the E92 M3 I ordered. I'm excited and sad at the same time. My E46 M3 is such a great car.

I look forward to seeing your pics. Thanks for participating. We should have a pretty nice collection of M5 & M6 pics by the end of the month.

Bob

Thanks Bob, I actually ordered my intake and pulleys from you guys through Sean at D/A! Your M3 was hot, I have seen some good coverage on it and it will be sad seeing it go but on to bigger and faster things right!!

Good to see you guys on this board as well. . . .

Pic of my M3 attached for fun. . . .

This is just a fun pic as I can't take pics for toffee. Though I think it's quite nice, funny thing is I have a Cannon EOS 20D and still have not managed to get a better pic than this.

I took it with my Motorola mobile phone for the view and couldn't be bothered to stand up to get a clear shot, hence it has my car in it.

And yes, it is a campsite and we're on a hill

Nice composition on the pic. The only downside is it is a pretty low-res picture. Do you have any more that you've taken with a higher res camera?
