Now that is a nice find, i searched real oem without luck, but probably ran out of patience before i choose the correct car. Now IF we could get that, and the hoses, i wonder if it could connect to the e46 cooler?

The other issue, dinan IS going to release an E39 oil cooler "kit", which will still be expensive, but not $4k.
The dinan kit is really nicely done, eliminates the under plenum water / oil heat exchanger, which reduces intake air plenum temps, and has a thermostat.

Uh, cooler oil... and coolant temps. Essentially, you will be able to track the car on a warm (>75F degrees) day without the concern of overheating. A stock car will overheat after a few laps, especially in warm weather.

not much hapening. Discovery wanted 10 to make it worthwhile to make a 'kit' for around a grand. Haven't had time to explore the other options yet. Not likely that i'd be too motivated until the (warm) track season comes back.

Well, no offense intended, but I dont think's that this GB is gonna happen.

I have just taken delivery of a brand new Zionsville super duty radiator. Hopefully, this radiator in combination with the factory heat exchanger will do the trick.

.....we will know by the next track event.

No offense taken, i don't think it's going to happen either. I also don't think a new radiator will make any difference, but at least that's one less thing for you to worry about failing as the car ages.

I'm open to suggestions if you have a link to the parts required to do this less expensively. It seems that one issue is taping into the oil filter lines, which are not a standard off the shelf part. Compared the the $4000 dinan oil cooler, i thought 1k seemed pretty reasonable. Other bmw vendors sell kits for 'simpler' cars, like the US E36 M3 for the $500-800 range.

personally, i haven't been getting to the track much lately, so this has become pretty low priority for me.
