We will need to determine what version of DSP you are running, there are analog and Digital versions. We have a short article on the subject at this link:

http://www.europeanautosource.com/su...mod_id=2&id=11

A quick 2-minute physical inspection will make sure the correct parts are sent the first time.

The easiest way to tell would be to look at the connections going into your CD Changer. If you see a 3-pin & 6 pin connector - you will not require our DSP converter. If there is a coaxial cable present along with the 3-pin connector - you will need our DSP converter.

This is an analog DSP configuration, no DSP converter is required. You will need the following kit:

As requested - here are a couple of shots with the DICE writing ID3 text to the display:

And a shot of the text on the OBC cluster:

^ Very cool.

Does the DICE have the same "alternating text size" issues as the ice>link?

In full screen mode will the ID3 text scroll the entire length of the top of the screen or only half as the ice>link does?

No - text does not alternate on the DICE unit.

The text will still have the same length, this is a fixed text field from the BMW electonics - which is why we have scrolling text rather than truncating.

Tom,

Just installed my DICE kit. I had been having some issues with my icelink in the past where when it was hooked up the directional arrows wouldn't blink on the dashboard and sometimes the nav screen was blank. Needless to say, I stopped using it after that started occurring. Maybe I can send the icelink back to have it checked out for problems?

Anyway I just installed the DICE and got it working. Played great over the radio. But, after maybe only 2 mins. of playing it with the engine off, my battery no longer had enough juice to start the car. Seems like something is wrong if the battery can drain that quickly.

One theory of mine is that the battery is on its way out which may be why I was seeing some funny electronics bugs with the icelink due to low voltages or whatever. Do you have any thoughts on the matter? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks in advance for any help.

Because some of these questions may come up here's my setup:
2002 M5 with NAV and DSP (6 pin and 4 pin)
M-Audio option
DICE upgrade to IceLink installed
41k on car and to my knowledge the original battery is still in the car
60GB Photo Ipod
