Osh Minelian re: RMS BlackM5 thread

Dear M5board members

As you know I have been the topic of discussion for the last few days. I have received hundreds of emails from clients and friends making me aware of the things that are being said about RMS and myself personally. Some have asked how they can help and some have tightened the noose a bit more. I am very saddened at the things I have read. Some true and some not. It is going to take quite some time to address all of your questions and concerns about Osh Minelian the person and Osh the automotive professional. I am willing to answer any questions you have. I have devoted my professional life to working with great cars. I have a passion and deep understanding of automobiles. It's all I think about. I admit, I'm not a great businessman and I don't always make the best choices.

As far as Abdullah is concerned. This will be my first opportunity to speak with him since we received his engine. We will be sharing photos facts and figures and some technical information where it is warrantable.

It is past midnight and I am signing off for the night. I will not be back on this board until tomorrow afternoon.
I will assume that this discussion can proceed in a professional and courteous manner.

Sincerely

Osh Minelian

Osh,

Is there any truth to the statements that you drove the customer's cars 4500 miles while they were at your shop? Is there any reason that you cannot refund the 30,000 dollars to Triflow?

John

Osh:

Since you have decided to spend time chatting on the board please take to heart our many conversations with particular reference to those over the last several days.

You know that one of my pet phrases is "if the shoe fits wear it" and in this case it is time to tie the laces. Be honest, accept responsibility for your actions as well as lack there of. Osh, we have had far to many conversations about you and RMS. We have chatted about your out and out lying and the awful manner in which you disrupt peoples lives as the result of it. At this moment I find it interesting that you have attemped to surround yourself with some of the customers that experienced the same issues discussed however they are not disclosing the truth. This saddened me because if there was ever an opportunity for you to come clean and to be given the chance to redeem yourself it is now. I do not think they are helping you help yourself. Sure we all like to have someone to BS with and tell our colorful stories to however a true friend is a person that knows the truth (good or bad) accepts it and in your case encourages change. We have discussed and you agreed that if I were to simply say "**** the torpedos, you are good and they just can not see it" I would be not only accepting but encouraging the situation.

As for Abdulla's motor, we have chatted daily about this issue. No techincal information needs to be shared at this moment what needs to happen is for you to promptly ship the remaining parts that you have as well as those that were sold or inadvertantly shipped to others so that I can get a handle on the project for him. Let's be candid, JGM whom I have spoken with a couple times seems like a very good company and the proprietor a great guy. Honest, straight forward, my kind of guy. He verified that the attempt was made to sleeve the block however it sat in your facility way to long and then as I have shared with you directly and in an earlier post...... you directly lied to me. You told me the block had been machined, the sleeves had been manufactured and were being installed. JGM also confirmed that you discussed the idea of coating the cylinder walls however he did not and does not recommend it. He stated that the block in his possession is junk and either a replacement or new block is recommended. As the result of this I told you and Abdulla that I located another used block and will verify it's condiition. In the mean time that block is being picked up if for no other reason that to have all the pieces together again.

Yesterday when we chatted you said "why is Abdulla so upset I simply do not understand" and I raised my voice and said "if you remove the lies, the delays in the project schedule, the fact that parts were not ordered as you promised me, and then when the motor was finally removed from RMS if you had given all the parts back not to mention the correct super charger (the original was sold to another) as well as the heat exchanger etc." then you are right, Abdulla has nothing to be upset about. I told you it has been nearly two weeks and you still have not returned the parts. You asked if Abdulla was aware of this and I said "absolutely". I told you that your lack of accepting responsibility was simply astounding.

And let me make this issue known as well because like so many other issues we have discussed this one too. Your experience with the M5/Z8 motor is minimal at best so the very comment of all the engineering that has gone in to this project was smoke and mirror. As we have discussed, the first set of cams that were installed at RMS in an M5/Z8 were in my Z8 largely done by Robert. The first M5/Z8 engine replaced was in Bloch's, and the first engine that was completely torn down was Bloch followed by Abdulla's and this was done by Raffie and Christian. Most of your knowledge of these engines came through their eyes and hands. Osh I have told you not to paint me in to a corner because unlike yourself I do not claim to have done or know it all. What I do is reach out to others that have developed skills that compliment any given project I am involved with. The simple process of building a team.

I am a welder, fabricated, a designer, a mechanic, a painter, a business consultant, a machinist, etc. but I have always enjoyed and appreciated the support and assitance shared by those with greater skills than mine.

Osh, you know only to well that I am a car nutt through and through and have built many a wonderful piece, or let me say we (the team that I pull together) have built and modified some wonderful cars.

The phrase of the day "completely honest"

Nice Post Shadowman.

Let me just make a small spelling correction ... In 2 places ...

It should be ... "phrase" and not "phase."

I wonder how many other have had misgivings with RMS but have yet to see the latest threads that have begun to surface in the last 3 or 4 days?

I must say ... This situation is Far worse "Businessmanship" and a lack of "Ethics" than anything I've heard of or read about in recent times.
Maybe because it hits so close to home. It makes me feel ->

I need a spell checker because even during the best of times I still drop or add something. Thanks for comments, I truly do not expect any personal support only want to offer mine where I am able to. As I had stated before, this level of automotive service is suppose to be "Fun" and for far to many it has become a nightmare or at the very least very disruptive to their lives.

Take care,

Bill

Re: Osh Minelian re: RMS BlackM5 thread

Osh has been tuning my M3 since late 2000. The most recent effort has been a low compression motor with all the goodies, like forged rods and pistons, custom cam, headers, supersport head, etc., that performs like no car I have ever driven. It is unbelievably fast and is so eager to rev, it is incredible. I break loose in second gear just nailing the go pedal.

Osh's first effort on my car in 2000 was removing a Dinan setup and replacing it with his stage II Vortec supercharger. I ate every car on the road for lunch with that setup. Now, I am spending driving time practicing to control the awesome and endless power of my stage III+.

There are a couple threads running telling stories about RMS that are simply not representative, nor particularly accurate, of the cutting edge and innovative performance work Osh is doing. I have known Osh a long time and based on my personal knowledge, it may be that these other threads represent some other agenda.

Everything Osh has done on my car has been first rate and bullet proof.

Re: Osh Minelian re: RMS BlackM5 thread

I am glad that you had a wonderful experiance with RMS Dragon, and I bet your M3 is a total blast to drive. What HP are you pushing out?
On the sad note though, some people havent had the great luck you did, and that is why people are upset. If everyone had a great experiance like you did, I would rank RMS as one of the best tuners. However, based upon the testimony of some of his more recent clients, it seems like there are some bugs to be worked out.
Enjoy the M3, but it's useless saying that, as I know you already do.
