Beastpower, can you post your installation pics to your website. I want to print them out and show my installer before the Tubi's get here. So it looks like we have to cut the stock exhaust at the cat. Is that right?

Also how much do you think is a fair price for the install? How should it take?

Thanks.

If you PM me your e-mail address, I can e-mail the installation photos to you. Installation will take approximately 2 hours gross (1 hour net). I would estimate between $150 to $300 for a good installation.

Cheers.

OEM Muffler thoughts

I would be sure and remove the old exhaust to be able to reinstall it if it is a requirement on resale or trade in. It would also be easier to cut it into 3 pieces for storage issues and the fact that the OEM system is just plain heavy. I believe the OEM exhaust weights at least 100lbs.

I agree! I just sent Beastpower an email with the very same thought

>> ...I want to be able to easily go back to the OEM exhaust in
case I have to sell the car. Can you reccommend the best approach? Will I
have to make the same cut behind the catalytic converters? If so do the
Tubi's slip and clamp or will we need to weld it? What is your
reccommendation?

BTW, my wife is giving me a REAL hard time about this. "$1,800 for what?? Just for the sound?? Oh oh and don't forget another $300 to have it installed. What, what you may have to pay another $300 just to have it put back on when you sell the car? Jeez!"

BP- I beleive earlier in this thread you said that after installing the Tubi system you M5 felt as if it had a boost in power. Could you give an educated guesses to how much? I am thinking that since it is a cat-back system, it might give better hp numbers than a muffler system (which give hardly anything). Also will we be seeing any dyno runs in the future to test this?

Thanks in advance!

Tubi claims that its exhausts (not specifically its M5 exhaust) provide a performance increase of 5 to 7 percent. I definitely did feel an improvement, and I will be at the dyno next week.

The Tubi sound clips that I posted are of the complete Tubi cat-back exhaust installed on my beast. I would not recommend using the X-pipe in place of the Tubi resonators. The Tubi exhaust comes as a beautifully crafted complete system that should not, IMHO, be mixed with other bits.

Cheers.
