To programme the tuned file in you go programme ecu.

Instructions will be modified to make that part clear.

The version required will end in (0807).

huge thanks to everyone on here

wanted to echo the props to Jaime and Sal what a team. How they dealt with the little hiccup is what really makes a great company/partnership and product a stellar one. Also thanks for the great board members who have been really helpful as well evilOne isn't so evil!

I've been wanting to say this for a while and now I can...

ALL/RK/EVOLVE:

I have to echo the same. Yesterday the updated softare link came (FAST), but I couldn't perform the "read" until this morning. Everything worked, perfectly and I just sent off the data file.

I thought my own dumb mistake (full program read/diagnostic) was isolated and hope that I didn't create the same problem for others, but you guys shared the same, which was most helpful and consoling.

EVOLVE/RK remained relentless in getting the fix, but most importantly, COMMUNICATED in the same manner; I never felt like I was being sidestepped. I really appreciate your resolve.

I always thought the car was great, but didn't know it could be made better. I too, am waiting with great anticipation...

I have to second the comments about the top notch service from Jamie and Sal. I had a couple hiccups in getting the software to read, and Jamie answered all my emails within minutes. Just sent the file off last night, can't wait to get the tune installed along with the IAT sensor. One cool thing I didn't know that I was getting with the purchase is the diagnostic tool that's part of the software. That just up'd the value of the purchase that much more. =D

I was hoping for a DSC function to remain in last position, but not a big deal.
Thanks Jamie, SAL, and all @ Evolve...... Great job.

Beast "Evolved!" Yesterday, I finally got some time to do the upload; I was tempted to install the IATS kit, but chose to follow my plan to evaluate. So, first I cleaned the MAFS w/ CRC spray cleaner. I couldn't find the 5-point "tamper proof" torx sockets (only found 6-point in the Auto Parts store), so I left them in the Bosch tubes, unloaded the can (vigorous spray both directions) and let them dry. I vacuumed the air boxes, filters and wiped clean - you would be surprised at the amount of stuff that settles in them. Alpha N software took all of 5-minutes...

Impressions:
  • After upload, before cold start, I plugged in my Peake Code Reader--"1b-AA, SAP code - GONE! (check).
  • Started car, it rev'd to 1,000 rpm, definitely quieter and smooth, waited about 3 minutes and put it on the road DSC-on/SPORT-off.
  • Not much discernable difference (but I know it needs time to adapt); no WOT until normal. At stop light - very smooth and quiet idle at 500-600 rpm, could hardly tell motor was running. Honestly don't know if/how much cleaning the MAFS, Air boxes helped.
  • Ran this way (max speed to 50 mph) until I pushed the SPORT button at same speed and then....
  • OOMPH - felt like someone pushed me from behind, exhaust note louder/deeper, accelerator felt light, almost feathery and fluid, car seemed to lunge with each slight push on the pedal. Different than before-more pronounced now.... I repeated this a few times until hitting the access ramp to the Interstate...
  • Smooth hard pull, hitting 70 in seconds, never left 4th at 4,000 rpm - SWEET! Kept on high rpms with a few repeated pulls (remembering the cue from one of the member's posting) to let the tune adapt.
  • In SPORT/DSC-on mode the car just seemed lighter, balanced, torque seemed more "dialed-in" on Interstate entrance ramps, with "right-now" acceleration on tap.
Clearly this tune is made for the SPORT button, but when off, the Beast is a sublime, touring sedan...sedate, quiet and respectable. I will stay this way for a while and then go the full IATS install route to really see the difference.

Questions:
  1. When unplugging the MAFS, did you just leave the harnesses dangling, or somehow cover the ends and secure them somehow?
  2. If then, the MAFS are still in the tube, but null, won't that still impede airflow to some degree? Is there a way to remove them and seal the hole in the Bosch tube?
Many thanks to EVOLVE/RK and the gang here for your service delivery and helpful feedback (sorry to be so wordy).
