Ah, fxxk. Please don't tell me I just wasted a lot of money and time to have an inferior clutch installed.
Moderators, if this is all true, please go ahead and publicly state who the fake accounts are and ban then from the board.
I did talk to two living, breathing people during my decision tree, and maybe that was also all fake, but then they sure have gone through a LOT of work. Both names were from the board, but not provided by CNS.
155us, I have this clutch. Bought it before all this news broke, obviously. So far I think it is a good, strong clutch. I received very sterne warnings to install the clutch pedal stop prior to use, as over travel could damage it. Mine has been good to go, even with a few careful spirited romps before 500miles, but no racing starts or tire shredding. Now, after break in, I have pushed it a bit harder. I can chirp third in the dry with fairly new rears.
Would I buy today, with all this going on? Eh, I don't know. But I do think you will like it after break in. Clutches seemed to be their forte, and maybe aggression got the best of them. Follow the clutch stop advice for warranty coverage, though!

@CNS i think it would be best to name out the employee you ousted because i have been dealing with someone at your company considering the purchase of 3 10.5 clutches but later cancelled the deal as i wasnt satisfied with your reps behaviour!

RSPDiver, thanks for your note. However, until the moderators tell us who is real and not, how do I know you are real? Please don't take that the wrong way if you ARE real.
One going that did surprise me when I was looking at the unit at the shop, while dropping off the car, was that here was an area around the edge where the paint had been touched up. Well, now I know why. I bet that's where the Spec logo or serial number is?
Only good news here is likely that Spec makes good things, we "just" overpaid.
All take note of m5board member's georgefu recent purchase of a CNS Racing clutch. Notice how there is epoxy or some resin covering the area underneath the sticker. This could be the place where SPEC has their etched label.

I would appreciate a answer as to why I paid $1000 more for modifications, if the SPEC clutch had issues what were they? Explain that and I will decide if it was worth the extra money....
RSPDiver - yes, I did specifically talk to the mechanic about the clutch stop. You are right, in my research I did hear about one person that did have some trouble with the clutch after they missed that in their install.
It is likely something that could lead to trouble due to excessive travel and related damage to the hydraulic components (so not per se clutch related as it pertains to CNS, but related damage).
